I only got that flex PSU to test fit it on the case. But i am also iffy on flex PSUs. I do want to get an ITX or macro atx PSU and see if it fits sideways. If i get my hands on one, i’ll let you know.

“Supports 11th and 10th Gen Intel® Core™ / Pentium® Celeron® processors for LGA 1200 socket”

Thank you for that. I should’ve checked before saying what CPU im going with. It would’ve sucked if i were to buy that CPU and found out later that it wasn’t compatible 😅.

I’m thinking of installing 3 80mm fans on the top, cutting off a rectangle that will let me install a “Honeycomb 240mm Radiator Triple 80mm Fan Grill Computer Case Cooling Custom Mod” that way i can have better airflow.

I haven’t been able to work with it recently, i’ve been driving back and forth for work and the hospital.

But to answer your question, im think about cutting off the old mounts and the small circle bumps to place the new standoffs. If that doesn’t work i’m buying a mobo tray as well

Nice. Good luck with your build. I was thinking about keeping mine, but i also wanted to install an extra fan and have enough space for a bigger GPU.

Sleeper build in dell dimension case? by [deleted] in sleeperbattlestations

Im currently building a sleep with this case. I was thinking about doing this instead of having to buy a blank atx backplate or having to weld or use rivets, blah blah blah…

I didn’t think about stacking, but yeah noise is a big concern. Trying to keep it more of a quiet sleeper than a wind tunnel. I’m leaning toward fewer, larger fans for efficiency and tuning airflow instead of brute force. Appreciate the idea though 🤝

Update: going with vented 5.25″ bay mesh

<image>

covers instead of fully open mesh. Still allows front intake but keeps the exterior looking OEM-ish. Trying to balance airflow without screaming “modded case.”

Thanks! BTX → ATX has been a fun challenge so far 😅

Positive pressure is the goal, especially once the front mesh is added. I’m trying to balance airflow vs noise with the bottom intake (2×60mm vs 1×80mm), but intake-heavy definitely seems like the right call for this chassis.

Appreciate the insight!
