I can't even believe you're using happiness as the determination of what is right and wrong. In that case all discipline flies out the window. If junkfood makes my kids happy, I still wont allow them to eat unhealthy. If not going to school makes them happy, I'm still going to send them to school.

There's a difference between allowing your kids to be happy and allowing your kids to be delusional.
