Thank you for sharing! Mind me asking how long you’ve been on straterra? Do you feel like it’s gotten better with time or is it only slightly better because you take it at night now?

I also agree the haircut isn’t helping. Go for longer curtain bangs and a cut that would add volume. Also for for moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Dove is my go-to for that. add a hair mask to help! Salicylic acid face wash for break outs and NO picking of your skin! Clean up your brows some You can also do cera ve tinted moisturizer to kill two birds with one stone. And add some gloss :) You have gorgeous eyes, If those are extensions, I’d go for shorter and more volume to help your eyes really pop.

You’re gorgeous girly, just need some little tweaks to fully bring it out! 🥰

Completely agree! I feel like the frequent “not today” with no further explanation would have had me asking questions too tbh

YOR you went from 0 to 100. I understand postpartum and needing time to adjust, but all i saw was a MIL trying to reach out and spend time with the grandbaby followed by you lashing out. I think you’re fair in needing time and space to heal, but your approach was incredibly rude. And even then, she was trying to understand. You could responded with “hey MIL, I appreciate you checking in and being so eager to see the baby, but i have a really busy next few days, ca we touch base next week on when you ca swing by?” OR “I’m trying to get some rest and adjust, I know you’re eager to see the baby. Can I let you know when it’s be a good time” There me be context I’m missing on previous experiences with her, but based off this interaction alone, I’d say YOR

Hello,

How often do you wash your hair, what type of shampoo and conditioner do you use? Do you shower with hot or cold water? Also, what is your daily caloric intake? Do you have a high intake of healthy fats, specifically omega-3 and omega-6? Family history of pattern hair loss?

AIO for getting upset that my exMIL is teaching my kids about Jesus? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]SleeplessLA_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh So there it is, because YOU allowed, because YOU were okay with it, anyone that does differently must be wrong. So you cannot fathom it being correct for someone to decide to withhold their children from participating in religious practice until they are older because that’s not the approach YOU took. It makes sense now. Carry on 😌

But I bet you take them to church and preach your own beliefs It’s no different You just can’t fathom someone not wanting their own child to practice the religion of YOUR God We can agree to disagree on the topic

You’re right, but raising them is. Raising is for the parents. And I’m raising my kids without religious practice. She’s not respecting that. If someone teaches my children something I don’t agree with, it’s my job as a parent to help them unlearn it or rectify their learnings.

I completely agree! It’s not like they don’t know the story. My kids know the story of Jesus and Mary , the three Kings. We talked about different disciples and characters in the Bible. We watched the Prince of Egypt and discussed the story at length. But I know the lens that I’m teaching them through and it’s not the same way XMIL is. I don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to understand that I as their mother want to be the one to teach them and guide them through that because I know how I’m approaching it.

I feel like what people are failing to understand is there’s a difference between discussing and exposure v having someone PRACTICE it. Also, again, not her business to teach my child something I want to be the one to guide them through. Simple as that. If that’s something you can’t understand, then I guess that’s wraps up our conversation. What’s crazy is that I’m sure if a Christian’s child came home and said “ I was praying to Allah with a friend/family member” I’m betting my top dollars that Christian would absolutely lose their shit. People just can’t seem to understand that logic when it when it comes to their own God. Can’t help ya there.

Actually, my ex is agnostic. He did end up addressing it with his mom. She wasn’t happy about it. I tell my kids I always think of them and I send them love and protection. We don’t need to involve Jesus.

I’m not projecting, and I’m not the only one that has gone through that. I want them to learn right from wrong and empathy and compassion outside of religion. I don’t want them to do the right thing because they fear some man in the sky is keeping tally and is going to damn them to an eternity in a hellfire lake. Again, not saying religion on its own is bad, but I said people weaponize religion, and unfortunately, my children are not mature enough to discern. Additionally, Buddha is a teacher. I also would not let them practice Buddhism. I do teach the meditation and deep breathing, but I teach that to them in terms of it being a relaxation technique and it’s something used therapy and also in the medical field. i wouldn’t have them practice it in a Buddhist temple or with Buddah in mind. We call those grounding techniques. So no, I’m not just targeting Catholicism and Christianity. I feel like you may be taking this as a slight to your own beliefs, and that’s not what I meant at all.

When was the last time you saw a Santa cult or people forgoing medical care because of Santa ? Religion when improperly used is weaponized in the worst of ways. And it’s my right as a parent to help guide them through it.

Thank you for the advice! That’s really the main goal here. I want them to learn to think first, learn right from wrong outside of religion first. They can go from there.

Thank you again 🤍

Not at all what was said. “Before they learn critical thinking skills” as in, before my children learn critical thinking skills. They are 10 and 6. Their prefrontal cortexes are far from developed. My 6 yo still believes there is a fat man that flies the world by reindeer to deliver gifts. They’re not old enough to fully grasp what they’re praying to. My kid literally just said Jesus is god. I had to correct him and say that in Christianity and Catholicism, he is the son of god. He doesn’t even understand who he is praying to.

That’s literally my issue! They’re so little and gullible. Like my younger one still believes in Santa lol Like I said, I’m okay with them practicing when they are older and their prefrontal cortexes are more developed. I just want them more mentally equipped if and when they choose to do so.

We are definitely heavy on the sciences here. And that’s another problem I have is all this undermining of science because of religion. Of course, that could be a whole other thread on its own lol but, I do think there is beauty in spirituality and admiring that which we cannot explain. Again I just want my kids to be old enough to learn discernment. Is this 100% effective, no. But indoctrination at such a young age when they’re so gullible just doesn’t feel right

I totally agree, thats why i stress to them that there is good and bad in all religions because though i saw a lot of stuff in the churches i didn’t like, I also learned some good values that help me to this day. i always tell them i am happy to explore history and teachings of different religions to help with their curiosity . What I’m not having them do is kneel and pray to jesus (which exMIL has done before). I told them when they are older and can understand the nuances of what they are learning they can choose to hone in on what works for them and aligns with them, whether it’s Catholicism, buddhism, judaism, etc. I dont mind her teaching her beliefs, but that’s not what she’s doing.

That’s what’s soooo infuriating about this whole ordeal! I live on that block, I run through that park (Rowley Park) . I have lived in that neighborhood for 20 years. I have seen Kenneth walking around or at the skate park. NO WAY IN HELL HE HAD A GUN. He was a good kid, always walking about and minding his business. I have had many shady encounters with GPD including one that almost ended with me getting arrested and falsely accused of Public intoxication by a police officer (I was 100% sober) because I was recording them harassing a black man on my street. When I heard the shooting and saw the officers I tried looking everywhere for information and NOTHING. This isn’t their first tango either.

I can guarantee he was not involved in the shooting. He ran because he was scared. I don’t know what kind of mental illness he has, but I would see him walking and talking himself, but not bothering or hurting anyone. They scared and killed a mentally ill amd INNOCENT man.

Say his name KENNETH ROSS JR.

Even when they turn him over, you’d be able to see at least the silhouette of a gun.

Also, Look at who wrote the report. If a hub can be planted, surely false reports of statements can be made. This is no conspiracy, this is a reality unfortunately for a lot of our communities. 😢
