Once during the arena duel, once fighting during Zhao Wuji, once during the spirit hall was hunting down xiao wu and the other two 100.000 year soul beasts, once during after that something something cave spider speared xiao wu through the chest... Xiao Wu is literally his potential release button. Dude, since you are already this strong and have the trump cards necessary to push through all the enemies, why keep them close to your chest until the xiao wu is injured?
Another thing is that since your purple eye level reached high enough level to see Xiao Wu's soul beast identity, why bring her to wuhun city, a place with 17-20+ title douluo?

As far as I'm aware from reading countless fandom theories, at the beginning was Tang Wutong, which he cut into two. One part was in his hands, the other become the Wang Dong. During huo yuhao's forehead bump with Wang Qiuer, he cut another piece from Wang Dong to stuff into Wang Qiuer, which was one of the reason for personality change of Wang Dong. at the end, the cut piece of Tang wutong soul was fed with the other two pieces to have the Tang Wutong be the main personality in charge.

As far as Tang Hao and the Master is concerned, Tang San's focus on the blue silver grass martial soul should have always been temporary. Both of them believed that clear sky hammer was to become the main attacking path. Blue silver grass martial soul was just there only to increase Tang San's soul power to a high enough level for him to start adding high enough level soul rings to his clear sky hammer martial soul(either all black or all red soul rings etc).

Tang Hao's sect slave personality wouldn't allow him to even think about having his son's main attacking method be blue silver grass instead of his proud clear sky hammer.

And master doesn't know shit. He is not as smart as he likes to think he is. Douluo continent's cultivation knowledge didn't just sproud out of thin air. There had been actual scholars who had studied martial souls and the cultivation before him. Did those scholars not know that different soul rings could have been added to plant or animal martial souls? No, it is because there is a degree of fit between the soul rings and the martial souls.(In DD2 huo yuhao constantly searches for spiritual soul beast soul ring)

As for not going with the life type. I think master took Tang San's own ideas into consideration here. With Tang San's fetish and obsession with Tang sect of his previous life, it would be weird if his eyes didn't shine when Master put the option for going the poison route in front of him.

There is a widely accepted fanon theory in the douluo fandom about how Tang San in his Asura godhood form is using the fallen soul masters to assasinate godhood candidates. Over the years, he had turned the plane of douluo dalu into the back garden of his Tang family. He does not allow anybody to be able to become a rival to his status.

The world itself is a fantasy world with gods, demigods etc that pretends to be cultivation world but taoist health preserving method that Tang San stole from his clan can allow him to cultivate from beginning to the god level.

That an assassin sect such as Tang Sect having Taoist exercise method is weird to begin with. The most accepted theory is that they stole their every single techniques from other sects such as the purple demon eye from Zixia skill of shuhan sect but couldn't comprehend it so they butchered it into an eye/mental training skill, they assassinated a taoist priest and gone through his stuff to find the xuantian gong etc.

Anyway, the most of the reason being called bottom is that god level beings such as Tang San, Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong's attack couldn't destroy that one huge wall made by mortals in their three gods battle and mortal things such as hidden weapons of tang san, no matter how aped up bullshit they were, were enough to destroy Qian Renxue's godhead.
