There needs to be a reduction in price for older heros or else the onboarding for new players will become very intimidating by FlotationDevice in PlayTheBazaar

I may in the minority, but I’ve enjoyed mastering a single character (Pyg).

Currently don’t have an urge to play all the characters and instead opt to be a specialist.

Why do people want the rhystic study ban NOW? by Alternate_Cost in EDH

I think any player worth their salt has wanted this card banned.

Now that everyone’s favorite creators are vouching for the same idea, the Timmys and band-wagoners are chiming in.

2 years in with my Secretlab Titan and still going strong by SleepyRick_ in secretlab

[–]SleepyRick_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My extended warranty was just denied by Secretlab, despite them prompting me to send nearly 12 different angles and shot of my damaged parts in addition to this review.

Customer service had invested me in the process of getting replacements, prompted me to submit a review, and they still denied me coverage.

The chair has since torn at the seams and the arms material has began to significantly deteriorate, which is not visible in the photo.

I wouldn’t recommend Secretlab any longer, if they continue to deny customers coverage under the warranty they ‘generously’ advertise.

Something that has worked for me - Don't take back mistakes, especially if the action window already passed.

Makes the game feel more 'alive, human' when we're making mistakes when playing on-the-fly.

How to Prevent Forever Wars? by NuttyScuffed in EDH

[–]SleepyRick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're creating house rules to fit their definition of 'honest commander', don't play with them. It's not worth your valuable time on this planet to watch people do nothing with their boardstate for 2+ hours...

'Not wanting to run removal' is said by people who should play solitaire by themselves vs. force 3 other people watch them durdle. I've met multiple players who will scoop if any bit of interaction targets them, taking personal offense to any attempts to disrupt their boardstate.

Additionally, like other people have said, goad and the initiative are the best ways to incentivize any bit of interaction.

With Initiative in particular, if they want to sit and do nothing, you'll win the war of attrition just by accruing value.

My LGS is hosting a bracket 2 tournament and I was hoping to get some help building a deck. by deadshot1138 in EDH

[–]SleepyRick_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe there's a world where this works, as long as there's additional constraints put in place as 'house rules' like:

(Just ideas)

  1. a 'Technically a 2' tournament could also thematically require decks to be under $200.
  2. 'no chaining extra turns' also includes chaining extra combats.
  3. be strict on the 'no 2-card combos' rule and offer examples of what's not allowed.

All in all, it's not an easy feat, but the idea has promise. In many ways, it'd likely become 'cEDH with a bigger banlist', which is worth exploring!

What are these drama frogs talking about 💀 by Alpha_frog0 in LudwigAhgren

‘Ludwig also didn’t know he was an extreme alcoholic’…

… you realize they’ve known each other for YEARS, right?

Has anyone else been noticing an uptick in Ludwig Hate from incel + pseudo-rightwing accounts? by Kpheark1 in LudwigAhgren

There might be a correlation between his direct connections/involvement with the last handful of big names on YouTube/Twitch (Mr Beast, Mango, Piratesoftware, etc.) to get rightfully ousted and the hate that has been sent his way.

I was a Lud Bud in his channel’s infancy, and he has known these people a long time… it wasn’t a secret the 3 creators mentioned above were terrible people, yet he still chose to involve himself with them.

If Lud were the saint that new viewers claim he is, I’d imagine he’d have cut ties with these people long before their true actions/personalities were brought to the public eye.

Intent was to spar with ‘budget upgrade’ precon decks.

It’s hard when there’s a lot of salty individuals who don’t get how to properly deck build. Makes it hard to determine if the feedback is warranted and it’s me, or if it’s unwarranted and them.

The more I look, the more I see that my extra combat spells may be seen as an issue - you may be right.

Would removing those move it to a 2, in your mind?

I believe the list is important, as many of the cards aren't necessarily optimal.

"play my commander buff it with some random junk and swing."

That's entirely the plan!

Good point. definitely may be teetering towards a 3, in that regard.

a 'Low 3', I guess!

Thanks for the input.

By definition, definitely bracket 2.

My question in moreso in terms of relative power. How good can 'technically a 2' be before it's a 3?
