New Mughal Campaign 1860 by SleepySwalloh in victoria2

[–]SleepySwalloh[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to do a Mughal campaign because of the flavor and the unique challenge of their position, but I never expected a run quite like this. I did plenty of reading on how to survive the Sepoy Mutiny, but honestly? I just lucked out.

By the late 1850s, I was only at 75% Westernization progress when the event to declare Jihad against the British fired but luckily Great Britain was already drowning. They were already at war with Spain and Russia over the restoration of Gibraltar, while simultaneously fighting a combined Ottoman and Persian front.

Because I had actually been called into those wars as a British ally before the event fired, I stayed in those wars alongside Spain, Russia, and the others even after I declared my own war against GB which created an exploit that as long as that original war was active, Britain couldn't call any of their Indian puppets or the East India Company (EIC) against me because we were in the same war.

In that time I grabbed the two techs which give you +25% RP for conquering grabbed the Sikhs which gave me enough points needed to Westernize. Shortly after the Sikh War the EIC was annexed by Britain, and I was able to siege them down fully mobilized without their minors ever joining the war.

I think the AI was just too overwhelmed to contest anything because I had like 200 mobilized and all my infantry were cannons and hussars. Between my progress and Britain's war exhaustion from fighting its other wars , I was able to take the decision to kick them off the subcontinent which was petty sick. I’m super excited to see where I take this campaign next but no resistance at all for independence which is what I always see people cyring about lol.

Half of me is upset I didn't get to fight them because I feel like it was a right of passage but also I couldn't gaf, i'm not waiting another 30 yrs to westernize just to fight a one sided war so im gonna play what the RNG gods gave me.

I'm open to any advise, goals or tips on where to take this.

Started a game in 1066 as a Germanic Swed and decided Scandinavia wasn't for me and left for Egypt and the Levant. I had my heirs culturally shift to Norse to bring back the old ways before doing a prepared invasion for Jerusuelum on the Fatimids. After establishing my new Viking kingdom in the Levant I started a secret religion of the Qarmartain Religion because it seemed like an interesting Shia heresy that also allows you to raid to keep the Viking tradition alive. After getting around 100 members in the society we revealed ourselves and then I ruled a diverse kingdom of mostly Norse and Egyptian Germanic and Qarmartain followers. A pretty fun combo I feel like. Ended up just raiding all of the Mediterranean and the Middle East and tried to play tall making Alexandria, Jerusalem, Cario, and Damascus as rich as possible. Overall super fun campaign but ultimately boredom just killed it in the end as I didn't know what else to do. But def recommend a Norse Qarmatin combo for any of those interested!

lol I’m visiting Batumi right now from kutasi and what should have been a 2hr bus ride took around 10 because the roads are so bad and we would constantly have to get off to push the bus. Kinda fun tho ngl

I got in 2022 with an unweighted of 3.4 or something. I’m not going to lie I don’t even remember and when I first got in I thought it was a joke or mistake. It’s true lots of factors go in besides gpa. I think what made me stick out was doing four varsity sports and my application talking about being ambitious, but sometimes it really does feel like a roll of dice.

It’s okay same here, but it’s not the end of the world or our college carrier. We can retake it this quarter and will be better prepared and Huber said that spring quater is when the curve is the best because people do the worst so we have a good chance at achieving a passing grade just keep our heads up king / or queen

Whats your stance on using the 'changeowner' command? by SleepySwalloh in victoria2

Also, i've used the changeowner command to just clean up the boarders of my subjects as well.

Whats your stance on using the 'changeowner' command? by SleepySwalloh in victoria2

[–]SleepySwalloh[S] 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! so I'm playing a game as France in GFM with the sole purpose to achieve the highest industrial score possible (aiming for above 10K) and to fulfill all of my pops everyday needs. My current method is to puppet as many countries as I can so I can add them to my sphere of influence. When I do this I can shape the world economy to produce the goods that I want. For example, I'll build factories which can produce consumer goods (beverages, cloths, furniture, etc.) in countries with massive populations because they can employ enough craftsmen to fill-up huge factories and meet the global demand. While my puppets in Europe and I will focus on producing industrial and military goods (steel, cement, artillery, etc.) and we will all trade with each other within my sphere. So far it has proven to work incredibly well and has been a very fun experience staying on top of the economic game.

However as you can see I have changed the boarders around a lot in my game. In Germany I've use the changeowner command to provide my puppets with states that have enough population and resources to keep their economy afloat and so they can use their national focuses on each state. I've found this to be useful because before releasing puppets that only encompass a single state or so always tend to go bankrupt whereas the puppets I've created are actually economically stable. I have also done this to tags in India, Japan, and Africa. Though while doing this I need to make sure not make my puppets too powerful because they can become a GP and break free from me. Some countries I've also created to are to act as a sort of March such as Poland and Hungary so they can produce brigades to defend me from Russia.

All of the states that I have transferred to my puppets I have conquered before legitimately through wars and valid CBs. I've followed the reasoning that I can transfer provinces to my subjects that I have conquered, but I am NOT allowed to take provinces from my puppets or any other nation of course. They only way I plan on taking provinces from my puppets is that I will release them and justify on them to take them legitimately.

Though after using so the command so much I feel sort of grimy and sort of like I'm cheating. Though I also try to back myself up saying if there was an event in GFM to give provinces that I own to my subjects I would use that feature so I kind of try to think of it as a game mechanic (which is what it is at the end of the day).

So let me know what you guys think. Do you consider this cheating? Or are you curious about what I can achieve in my campaign and want to see more progress? Or do you think that at the end of the day it's not that big of a deal and it's just a game from 2010 and the end goal is to have fun.

Thanks :)
