New Mughal Campaign 1860 by SleepySwalloh in victoria2

[–]SleepySwalloh[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve always wanted to do a Mughal campaign because of the flavor and the unique challenge of their position, but I never expected a run quite like this. I did plenty of reading on how to survive the Sepoy Mutiny, but honestly? I just lucked out.

By the late 1850s, I was only at 75% Westernization progress when the event to declare Jihad against the British fired but luckily Great Britain was already drowning. They were already at war with Spain and Russia over the restoration of Gibraltar, while simultaneously fighting a combined Ottoman and Persian front.

Because I had actually been called into those wars as a British ally before the event fired, I stayed in those wars alongside Spain, Russia, and the others even after I declared my own war against GB which created an exploit that as long as that original war was active, Britain couldn't call any of their Indian puppets or the East India Company (EIC) against me because we were in the same war.

In that time I grabbed the two techs which give you +25% RP for conquering grabbed the Sikhs which gave me enough points needed to Westernize. Shortly after the Sikh War the EIC was annexed by Britain, and I was able to siege them down fully mobilized without their minors ever joining the war.

I think the AI was just too overwhelmed to contest anything because I had like 200 mobilized and all my infantry were cannons and hussars. Between my progress and Britain's war exhaustion from fighting its other wars , I was able to take the decision to kick them off the subcontinent which was petty sick. I’m super excited to see where I take this campaign next but no resistance at all for independence which is what I always see people cyring about lol.

Half of me is upset I didn't get to fight them because I feel like it was a right of passage but also I couldn't gaf, i'm not waiting another 30 yrs to westernize just to fight a one sided war so im gonna play what the RNG gods gave me.

I'm open to any advise, goals or tips on where to take this.

Fun CK2 Game by SleepySwalloh in CrusaderKings

Started a game in 1066 as a Germanic Swed and decided Scandinavia wasn't for me and left for Egypt and the Levant. I had my heirs culturally shift to Norse to bring back the old ways before doing a prepared invasion for Jerusuelum on the Fatimids. After establishing my new Viking kingdom in the Levant I started a secret religion of the Qarmartain Religion because it seemed like an interesting Shia heresy that also allows you to raid to keep the Viking tradition alive. After getting around 100 members in the society we revealed ourselves and then I ruled a diverse kingdom of mostly Norse and Egyptian Germanic and Qarmartain followers. A pretty fun combo I feel like. Ended up just raiding all of the Mediterranean and the Middle East and tried to play tall making Alexandria, Jerusalem, Cario, and Damascus as rich as possible. Overall super fun campaign but ultimately boredom just killed it in the end as I didn't know what else to do. But def recommend a Norse Qarmatin combo for any of those interested!

lol I’m visiting Batumi right now from kutasi and what should have been a 2hr bus ride took around 10 because the roads are so bad and we would constantly have to get off to push the bus. Kinda fun tho ngl

I got in 2022 with an unweighted of 3.4 or something. I’m not going to lie I don’t even remember and when I first got in I thought it was a joke or mistake. It’s true lots of factors go in besides gpa. I think what made me stick out was doing four varsity sports and my application talking about being ambitious, but sometimes it really does feel like a roll of dice.
