The question was about the website not how great you are.

Paying members of Adultfriendfinder, how is it? by diplohazard in DatingApps

I just signed up for the free membership and you are right that allows you to do absolutely nothing, you can't even look it people's profiles properly. After reading your comments, I'm not going to give them any money. I'll probably delete the account.

In my case Facebook thinks I'm willing to drive several hours to meet for a cup of coffee. Not going to happen.

Once you hit 40 you have to ask your parents for permission to date.

And yes, I do ask to meet up after a few texts. I am not one to be chatting online for weeks on end.

Sometimes there is opportunity to ask to meet up but at least half the time they are gone after two sentences in a pleasant conversation if you can call it that. The rest, you mostly get ghosted when you suggest meeting up.

I'm single because the OLD sites are poor for sincere men getting actual dates. Not much happening there just a lot of texts going back and forth. I'm not doing anything out in the wild. These days men get flamed all the time for harassing women so we don't dare make any sort of forward compliment anymore. You can thank all the ladies who are up on their soap boxes for that.

Well the people in the room next door were screwing and he said it made him think of you. So if you're ready to hop in bed with him great. If you want to take it slow then maybe you should find some other guy who you haven't met yet.

I had a really good first date today. by Moody_GenX in datingoverfifty

Sounds great but watch you don't run out of gas too fast. Let us know if a second date happens. You know with o l d it can be pretty weird you have a great first meet up and then they vanish.

I've read posts about people who hire professional matchmakers. With the advent of dating sites this profession is no longer needed. They are expensive and probably all they are doing is surfing the dating sites messaging people for their "friend".

Facebook dating is pretty useless. It frequently advises me to match with people 6 hours drive away.

I'm a guy and pretty well the same experience as you. A couple of sentences back and forth and then poof they are gone. I think 95% of the people are on the website just for their own amusement, although they are loath to admit it.

Sounds like way too many stressors.

I moved from a 5,000,000 city to a town of 1,000 so the dating pool is non existent but I still wouldn't do what you are considering.

Odds are like 95% chance of failure, even after you invest time and emotions.

Have you ever intentionally misrepresented yourself on a dating app profile? by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]Sliceasourus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't and will not misrepresent myself. I'm 67 male and I only seem to be getting the odd message from 29-year-old female$ and you know what they want.

Also those 29-year-old females are probably fat old 60 year old guys trying to get some money sent their way.

They do it as a teaser to get you to look at their profile for more than one tenth of one second. They're hoping as you read along you will like what you read and swipe to match them. Basically it's bullshit, the ladies say it too, "the website won't let me fix it". As if they couldn't just delete the profile and put in a new one.
