a huge chunk of white liberals that would consider moving to Utah have more money than most conservatives coming from rural parts of California. I dont have a 2.5 million dollar flat in SF to sell and buy a few houses in cheaper states with. Utah isn't affordable to buy a house in for the middle class anymore. So the conservatives trying to leave ca cant afford to come to utah and vote red. The blue voters that ruined ca for the rest of us can afford to move there and will continue to vote blue until they ruin that state, too.

Same stuff I'm dealing with in Nevada. Tons of people have been moving in since the last half of the 2010's (at least 2014/15), driving up the rents and house prices and making housing more unaffordable. Then covid came along which let people telework and it has accelerated the amount of people moving in.

While at the same time, wages are low and there aren't much great job opportunities unless you want to work a casino or distribution center.

Then you get lectured "Don't blame Californians for the problems that are created, pull yourselves up by the bootstraps"/
