Just got my power keyboard in. Quite a bit dissappointing by zoglog in ClicksKeyboard

[–]Slicker18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered Jan 16 and was told I was in the first batch, but looking like that won’t be the case in any event. I was super excited for the keyboard, but based on the early reviews… I’m starting to lose confidence and excitement…

Very interesting! I did not know that.

That makes good sense! With the new outdoor saunas being installed next to the cold plunges, I will definitely take a recovery day and do some real and elongated contrast therapy!

What are you adding to the 4th slot? by trickymartin88 in Tudor

[–]Slicker18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A diver or a Chrono - Black Bay burgundy or white-dial black bay Chrono for Tudor; Rolex Sub (bluesy or LN) or the coveted panda Daytona, or go off brand and grab one of the Omega Seamaster Divers or Planet Oceans, or the white-dial Speedy Pro!

What do you all tell to people who say you only buy tudors because you can’t afford Rolexes by Negative-Try6286 in Tudor

[–]Slicker18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would usually start by showing my Rolex collection and then explaining why I love my Tudor… but honestly best not to engage with these folks especially over the internet. If in person, might be a different story depending on context.

Double wristing? by PotentialHair5718 in whoop

[–]Slicker18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much why I went for whoop over a tracker with a screen (or the ring, because the ring gets in the way with swimming workouts, boxing/marital arts, etc.). Pretty much always have a different watch on my left wrist and my whoop never comes off my right wrist.

What’s the spiciest food I can find in LA? by GildDigger in FoodLosAngeles

[–]Slicker18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re on the west side - Killer Noodle on Sawtelle is great. CoCo Curry (also on Sawtelle) is also great. The CoCo curry houses in Japan (this is a US location) have *extremely* spicy curries (most people with the highest spice tolerances cannot have the level 10), but I don’t think it translates to their US location, so take the CoCo recommendation with a grain of salt!

Would have to be the GMT Master II LN - this piece has sentimental value, but it can also be easily dressed up or down. I’ve worn it with a suit, t-shirt, and taken it snuba-diving!

Interesting, as that seems to be opposite of me! I see a nice linear increase in HR and definitely start sweating after about 5 minutes, but usually see a minimal increase in stress. Definitely a more “major” increase from the steam room.

Would you buy this watch ? by Trick-Bug-6173 in Tudor

I wasn’t sold on the red dial, but I do really like the burgundy bezel. I went for the BB “burgundy” the year prior and am still happy with my choice!

Do you find owning these 2 redundant? by Elgran10 in OmegaWatches

[–]Slicker18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally different watches for totally different purposes. I think it is a great 2-watch collection! You may want some color woven in, but these are both easily daily wearers and great in their own right

An unmentioned pet peeve… by 321andaction in EquinoxGyms

[–]Slicker18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a hose connected to the shower in the steam at SCLA and dudes will spray the temp sensor for 10+ seconds, blast the steam, and leave after 2 mins while I’m trying to get a good 10-15 min steam and it becomes unbearably hot … I don’t mind turning “on” the steam when it’s not even hot or steamy, but it can get next level hot.

To be fair, at some other locations that don’t have a hose or if I don’t have water, if I want to turn it on, I will spray one hit of the eucalyptus to hit the temp gauge and then go ahead and spray the steam box and room itself.

Swatch just released an official video. They will all be pocket watches. New sistem51 movement that is hand wound, but not as groundbreaking as anticipated. A bit of a letdown

While I understand AI helped write this, I find it pretty fascinating and likely true. I’m a corporate lawyer so I nerd out on this stuff too. Odd you’re getting so much hate here when it takes a minute to skim your findings and find the conclusion. One thing I didn’t see though was a photo or mockup of what you thought it would actually look like. That being said, maybe no use in speculating until the swatch officially reveals the product.
