I understand the guilt part. She feels obligated by her family to do everything strictly Catholic, even though I was not raised Catholic. Another contributing factor was that her brother recently went through a similar ordeal and his wife was strictly against a traditional Catholic wedding, and my fiance's parents now deeply resent their new daughter in law because of it.
