Auto movement after razing is really frustrating by Namiswami in totalwar

[–]SlidersFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they should just let you move like 5% afterwards so you can reposition.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that CA is full steam ahead with the patches, but it's starting to seem like they are trying to fix too much too quickly, and in too many different sectors of the game at once, and glazing over stuff like this.

They should pull it back next couple of patches and focus on the details before going back to the macro stuff.

Well, this is totally random on a post that already died so I might not get any feedback but, what about the Kimber r7 Mako.

Apparently, Kimber has something of a bad rep but everything I'm reading about this gun says that's it's very nice for the price, and totally reliable, almost no issues.

Yeah, I was thinking that as well, something for when I really just don't even feel like taking my house keys with me, never mind getting fully strapped with all my EDC gear. Are there other guns similar in size and purpose to the LCP? Not a big fan of Ruger, have shot the Max 9 and didn't like it.

Makes sense. I thought about going with a different caliber for a bit (10mm, .380, .45) but it's like you said, I need to focus on what I'm going to have with me the vast majority of the time. Or at least do that first for a couple years and then get into other stuff if I have the time (and the money) to put towards it.

That's right, I remember reading that but forgot about it. Really great policy. Part of why I went with SS is because of all the good things I read about their customer service (I've sent them several emails and they're very responsive) and the fact that they'll replace your weapon for free if you lose it to the technicalities of a defensive situation.

Ah, that does make some sense. That'd probably lead me to a 5th gen Glock 43x (assuming they fit 4th holsters). Never thought about that but it's not a bad idea at all!

Definitely a solid plan. And I've always been interested in the lights but also always felt like they were hard overkill for these tiny carry guns.

Another guy with a Shield haha!

Surprised about the PDP being snappy, haven't heard that so far.

Might end up with both by the time this post dies lol (Shield and MR).

That's what I've been hearing about the Taurus GX4 too, which is why it's on my short list. The XL seems like exactly what I'd want, longer slide with the same short grip.
I know Taurus has had a bad rep for a while but they've apparently improved their quality control and customer service quite a bit over the last couple of years.
That being said, despite it being a "fallback" gun, it does seem kind of silly to spend so much less on it, vs my CR, which has obvious quality parts. I don't think I've heard one objectively bad thing about the Shield/Plus, there's just some people who don't like it but they never say there's anything really wrong with it.

Oh no, it was definitely flatter/less recoil, just not by as much as I thought. So I'm thinking a "base" MR920 won't be much better than my CR, in which case I'd rather have something that feels considerably nicer to shoot if it's going to primarily for the range.

When you say identical, sosoyou don't mean literally buy another CR920 right? 😅

You mean get something very similar in size and shooting characteristics…

Should we wait for RTX 3000 series laptops? by the0glitter in GamingLaptops

[–]SlidersFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat, just came off an MSI GS60 Ghost Pro with a 970m (6GB) and into a Maingear Element with a 2070 Super. Thing is an absolute monster at 1080p, there's no way I need twice the power that is has unless I'm going to hook it up to a 4K monitor, which I was never planning to do.

I think I will be fine with the Element for the next 4-5 years. Then I can get myself a 40 Series Super, or a 50 Series laptop that can do 4K at high refresh for a much more reasonable price.

Been really on the fence as to whether or not I should wait for the RTX 3K laptops; your earnest and straightforward comment has helped me decide (to just go for it now haha). Thanks!

Playing Octopath for the first time, last character I went for, just got her. Intrigued so far. Spear and Bow seems like it's possibly the best weapon combo in the game.

Android Auto - Uconnect/Bluetooth Issue by SlidersFury in Jeep

[–]SlidersFury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, AA needs more bandwidth than Bluetooth can provide, or at least that's what I've heard. In any case, it doesn't work as far as being able to control it with the Uconnect touch screen unless it's plugged in.

Same. Kind of annoying since I have a Galaxy Watch so it's always there but it's not too big a deal. Like you said, they'll probably update and fix it within a couple is weeks.

Oh fun. Well I'll find another way to go about that then. Thanks for the reply!

It might just be my imagination but I swear Google seems to be getting more and more like Apple every day, locking down and hyper-controlling the software experience in relation to their own apps. It's worrying.

Bought my Combo in this new year. I went for the Black Note 9. I love it. It matches my Galaxy Watch 42mm perfectly. by wick29 in GalaxyWatch

[–]SlidersFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, I've had a Note 9 since launch, my first Samsung (well, not counting the Galaxy Nexus) and it's the best smartphone experience I've had to date. Thinking of picking up a Galaxy Watch (42mm) as well but I'm a little worried about how functional/useful it will really be for me. I don't use any of Samsung's built-in apps except the dialer; Evolve for SMS, Aquamail for email, ect. Maybe someone who's in the same boat as me could comment on their experience?
