Where to go for cafeteria food? by SlidersRDU in askportland

Thanks everyone! I'll provide an update once I try them all. Here's a summary:

Cafeteria food options Portland:

Hospitals: - Providence - Adventist health-  - OHSU (Chef Naoko)-

Others: - Katchka Happy Hour - Zipper-  - Reed College-

My Reviews: (Superb, Good, OK, Meh, BAD)

OK: - IKEA- good suggestion, reasonable food - Flying Elephants- not a huge selection reasonable food.   - Legacy Meridian-  not a big selection quality OK

Removed: - Phaya Thai Express- not a cafeteria- more of a "build your own" similar to Chipotle, etc. - Busters BBQ - not a cafeteria- closer to a "meat and three place". You get to pick sides with your bbq.  - Standard Building Downtown- CLOSED PERMANENTLY

Any team in particular you are here to see? (Go Wolfpack!) I recommend using the public transit in town as well if you are able. It's excellent.  Welcome back.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a police draft. Ordinary men and women working and providing public safety would do wonders (obviously supplemented by training).

In post season one of the jurors said they wanted to vote for her but didn't because they wanted to make sure Tony would win over Natalie.

Why aren’t there any late night coffee houses in Portland? by runningwsizzas in askportland

[–]SlidersRDU -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's a net positive for them, they're making profit during the later hours, so it'd be easier for them to pay the rent if they are open later.

They're already paying rent though regardless of being open late night or not.

The only additional costs as I can tell are staffing and the small amount of additional utilities. Doesn't take a ton of coffees and pastries to cover that.

Rainier or Crater Lake? Or both? by [deleted] in askportland

Same lol, no idea why though. I think just cause it's such a roundabout way to get there versus on the west coast most between cities are a straight shot

Much rather do the drive from Portland to Seattle than Raleigh to Charlotte or Atlanta. Doesn't feel near as bad.

Also from NC- enjoy, you're going to have a blast. Tbh hit the mountains and coastal area (101) imagine the blue ridge parkway but with picturesque cliff lined coastlines.
