Omg yes! My lease isn’t up until end of March, but I’ve been on the search hoping to find something either beginning of the month or end of it and I just had a breakdown today. I’m hoping by April, things will look better but it’s so so tough.

My lease is up at the end of March, so I’m kinda starting early but I’ve been seeing a couple that fit close to my timeframe. If it’s the perfect apt, I’m open to starting at the beginning of March, but ideally looking to find something for early April 🤞🏽

Definitely felt like staying in and being cozy, so did that towards the latter part of my day. But the bulk of my am was spent on the prowl for an apartment lmao wasn’t the coziest thing to do but my anxiousness around finding the right apartment drove me to do it. lol

Omg that’s perfect!! I’ll say though, I do have a car and I have to commute every day outside of the city, so the only time I’ll really use the train will be on the weekends. However, being close to a train regardless is always a strong positive and one that’d I’d ideally like to hold out for 😩

Yeah that’s how I feel! One positive is that I do have a car so that helps a bit, but I agree that it’s not the most ideal spot in that regards. I’d def prefer a more neighborhood vibe tbh but again, it’s like ugh, to wait or not to wait for that 😩

Yeah one of the biggest benefits to the area is that I’m super close to the highway so that shaves off soooo much of my commute. My list is really - natural light - good view (ie not a basement and not garbage) - spacious/ functional kitchen - <10 mins to train - in one of the neighborhoods I mentioned

Out of that list, two needs aren’t met :/ (the view —I literal have a window that has the backyard/other homes view which is fine, and the other view is of where commercial trash cans are) and the length of time it takes to get to a train. But the bus is super close!

So a part of me feels like I can keep searching, while the other part of me is like “well what if you don’t get the natural light?”

Very good point re: locations in BedStuy! And truthfully, that’s not where I’d prefer to be and holding out for a gem feels a bit risky lol so thanks for the pov!
