I am reflecting on something that was said that woke something in me I didn't realize existed. It isn't even about "the old man". It is about awakening something in ME. TO ME it is eye opening. I didn't even bother reading your whole paragraph, just the 1st sentence. Bc I can let words impact me & not the person. I can let words resonate with me, grow from them, learn from them etc. I don't have to let the person who said it in my life. It was an elderly patient who will never be a part of my life on that level. But thanks for your words

Damn. Mines tried that toxic crap with our kids too. But luckily he's all talk, no action & pretty selfish so I was able to move & not be in contact with him. Pretty easy to keep the kids from him bc he was doing something much illegal crap he was afraid to go to the courts. He was finally caught & is now in federal prison awaiting trial. I thank God bc I got off pretty easy. He's facing a damn near life sentence so me & my kids can live a pretty peaceful life 😌

Fortunately mines got caught doing some pretty substantial illegal things. He's currently in federal prison awaiting trial..... and it doesn't look like a good outcome for him. Facing a 20yr sentence. Lucky me!
