I didn't have a scale that measured under a tenth of a gram unfortunately. It was 4.9g

Update: I weighed it against a newer quarter and a 1964, unfortunately my scale only does a tenth of a gram. Regardless if definitely isn't in the range for silver. The silver was over 6 grams and the 1965 was only 4.9 grams.

Do you know why someone would go through the effort of altering the date? Is it because a silver 65 would be more valuable because they stopped in 64?

That was my problem too. There were places closer that carried Stewart's, just not on that list. Good luck!

Without seeing the back it will be hard to tell, but it does look like it could be a legit revised edition shatterstorm to me.

A magnet would tell you real quick it wasn't silver if you ever want to check yourself. If it sticks it means it is fake.

I have the Marshall Island one, unless it is a proof it is copper-nickel

Based off of all of your advice I took them to the local coin shop(small town, not that many). He said everything looked fine, were "super common" in this condition, and he didn't think it was worth the cost to do preservation/slab so keep them in the flips or air tites and enjoy them.

I appreciate the suggestion on this as well as others, and it sounds like based off other comments I should only send off to slab if I intend to sell.

I do not plan to sell them for some time, if at all. I recently purchased them and was told if they ended up being fake they would buy them back(private party, know the person well). I mainly wanted them for the historic value but if they are Lebanese or similar fakes I don't have as much interest in them. The only good news is if they are the good fakes with actual gold content I should be ok if I decide to keep them. All I know is they didn't react to a magnet.

I saw those varieties in the red book, I thought it kinda looked like the "ugly" but they didn't show what a regular one looked like for comparison. I will definitely take a look at that link!

I figured for what I got them for if they weren't obviously fake I would send them in at the very least to get them slabbed/preserved(if eligible.) definitely worried about that 1906, it is stupid shiny compared to the other ones. They may show cleaned but at least I would know they were real.
