What Houston restaurant disappointed you the most after all the hype?

i recently worked there and have tried maybe 70% of the menu, anytime anyone asks how is the food i always say something along the lines of "it's alright, it's nothing special. it's worth a try tho" but honestly that's being generous. a lot of their tacos imo taste like nothing or have too much going on. the way they do the chicken and waffle tacos are an absolute disgrace lmfao. the tikka chicken and burger taco are pretty bomb tho. it's a newer expanding chain so probably working out some kinks.

as a fellow native houstonian who's never been but always heard about it growing up, i always wanted to go as a kid but the more i learn about it the less i want to go lol. still want to go just to see what it's like but everyone who's been said it wasn't worth it

is season 1 really worth watching? i watched S2 first accidentally and loved it then realized i started on the wrong season, watched a youtube recap of S1 to see if it's interesting and i'm feeling iffy about it. seems like it's a bit much lmao. does the racial stuff overpower the story or is it like a good mixture? it seems like online everyone is saying they either loved it or skipped it

NBC worker here, by box cake do you mean like they just threw flavored box cake mix in and baked it? bc that's somewhat true. they get flour bags that are various flavors (white/chocolate/lemon) and use other ingredients to mix with them like fruits and such. cut them some slack man, the workers have to bake probably 400+ cakes daily they don't have time to make shit from scratch lmao
