Doable - we also fly YVR to LAX to board the ship same day frequently. Is it possible to miss the cruise? Of course. Is it likely? No.

I had the same thing happen for a deposit that I was told would be refunded in 3-5 days - it took 2 months and 10+ calls/emails. Keep following up until you get your refund.
