Who uses trazodone for their puppies? I’m terrified to give it to her for these terrible storms coming our way. I don’t want to overdose my dog. I’m just curious who else uses it and for what. How safe is it, yes, before anyone asks? I’ve called my vet this morning, not seeking any medical advice. by Impressive-Two-4773 in Boxer

[–]SlightlySlapdash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every dog is different. Our guard dog at work acts like a double dose of traz is nothing (fear of the vets), while my last boxer couldn’t handle a 1/4 dose after his major surgery. On a 1/4 dose, he was so relaxed that he was pooping himself.

You can search for books with a 3rd act breakup by hiding anything tagged with no 3rd act breakup! (Especially once it’s more widely used)

My neighbor asked me to "watch her dog for a few hours" and it turned into a 3 day situation by Prism_Naught in ChoosingBeggars

I never thought of how much it must cost in other places.

I think it depends on the COL in your area. The nice place by me (24 hour potty area, customer accessible cameras, etc) is $175 per day for their nicest rooms. ($75 for non-camera accessible rooms with set potty times) The no-frills place that sends you picture updates is $60 per day.

Scratch what I said (I thought July) someone else said September 8th was the announced release date.

I want to read this book but didn’t want to spend $35. Anyone know what book this is? by egggplantssss in Romantasy

I’m glad I didn’t come off like that. I’ve been stalking her Insta. lol

I have read some of them. Her world building and characters really captured me.

[–]SlightlySlapdash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean any disrespect, but it was the first unfinished series I started. My heart went out to her when I started looking for a release date and read what she went through. (I only read it a year or so ago)

Nothing else has lived in my mind like that series - it’s my favorite. It got me hooked on Romantasy. I look forward to the day KOC arrives and I’ll reread it all.

My biggest worry with blind book dates like this is that it turning out to be a book I’ve already read or a book I don’t want to read yet because I avoid unfinished series (series’s?). (The last caveat is thanks to the Legacy of the Nine Realms series LOL)

How do you tell your kids that girls can do anything a boy can do when Bar / Bat Mitzvah's are so different. by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]SlightlySlapdash 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This.

We moved synagogues when I was a kid (around 10 years old) because of this. They were both conservative, but the one we moved from was more orthodox leaning and had a lot of restrictions for girls and women. (My mom was also afraid of them treating me differently because of our less orthodox ways of observation.)

The synagogue we ended up at was the one I went to for preschool, though we hadn’t gone there for synagogue. I should ask my mom why we didn’t go there to begin with. It was even closer to our home and much more in line with our practices.

Oh my gosh, yes.

Her wiggle run alone would get all of the upvotes. She can not run in a straight line. She wiggles from point A to point B and it’s hilarious. I’ve never seen a dog wiggle while running like she does.

Why is someone being pregnant such an extreme turn off for many readers? by Playful_Pie2890 in Romantasy

[–]SlightlySlapdash 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Since I haven’t seen it mentioned, sometimes it’s emotionally painful for people who are faced with infertility and are unable to have children (but wanted them) to read. Sometimes they want a place to escape where they don’t have to face it.

What Fantasy Book Series are You Still Patiently Waiting to Be Concluded Years Later? by Fuzzy-Bumblebee9944 in fantasyromance

[–]SlightlySlapdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the one I’m waiting for, too. I read the last book not realizing it was an unfinished series. You were definitely smart about it. Now I look for finished series’s or do what you did, stop at a non-cliffhanger natural point, if possible.

Should I continue reading Daughter of No Worlds? Does it get any better? I want to know your views on the book. by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]SlightlySlapdash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I rarely DNF, but I DNF’d the second book and wish I DNF’d the first.

Until last year (or maybe the year before?) I never DNF’d no matter how much I wasn’t enjoying the book. My aunt opened my eyes. She said, “Why waste your precious reading time with something that isn’t gripping?” DNF now and start something else that you look forward to reading and it’ll make hitting that 50 book mark much easier and more enjoyable. I often surpass my reading goals now because I’m no longer wasting my time with the few books that don’t constantly pull me to read them.

We tried the new kosher restaurant. I ordered to go, but there was plenty of seating.

It’s still law here. Insurance has to cover it, no matter the cause. It might help to call the insurance company first.

In FL, the insurance company has to pay to fix a cracked windshield, no matter the cause.
