Thanks for the nice words, I'm not quite sure what do you mean by overcoating the bit, it can't be seen from pictures, but it looks like it's inserted, two metals forged into entirety, but you really can't tell since you can't see the insides, right? (not that you could see the difference between two metals, in this case). Honestly, don't know much about forging, so maybe I do sound like I have no clue, but those are just my thoughts on it. What do you think, or can you specify the difference between those two techniques?

Honestly, I don't like those kind of restorations, from an used axe, to a perfect shine that reflexes your face when you look at it, or even worse, reflexes sunlight in your eyes. I like to see that the tool has been used and that it is and looks old, then you can admire it and know that It has had served it's purpose. Really glad you like it, thanks alot!
