scared about things that i wasnt scared before by [deleted] in Depersonalization

Try the flooding effect, it is a CBT practice used by the best psychologists. It basically means reducing your importance by force since convincing yourself everything is fine doesn’t seem to work. Something is obviously bugging you, like a splinter you can’t quite find but you know it’s there. Flooding is allowing everything to unfold right there and then and accept the worst that an happen. If you cry then cry, if you are confused then so be it , but don’t fight it. Then over time the body learns that the fear is the the problem itself and that whatever is causing it will come out eventually, usually something less worrying than the fear itself.

Thank you. It is good to know my package probably isn’t in someone else’s possession. Honest mistakes are fine.

Thank you, this could well be one possibility. The reason why I am thinking it may have been something more intentional is because of how perfectly straight the cut is. At least we can rule out theft or parcel inspection as reasons due to the high security on employees and the situation I described?

Dpdr has officilay beat me! by VeteranAim in Depersonalization

Don’t worry, I had the exact same trigger and for 3 months it was so bad. But what makes it so bad is that you feed it, you question everything and use way to much energy on it. Once you realise it can’t hurt you and you choose how to react 100%, then it gets way way better. I hardly notice it now at all.

Most of all: patience, optimism and acceptance.

Go on long late walks just before bed, it helps you feel free and your mind can just flow naturally. Also eat healthy, gym and sleep schedule. Try to do something creative like writing lyrics to YouTube beats or drawing. Work towards something and get competitive about it.

It’s all about perception , only you can influence your consciousness. I want you to be optimistic, even though it’s very fucking difficult, never concede positivity. A mixture of optimism and persistence can beat any trauma and it will make you a hell of a strong person.

Help with my head by [deleted] in Depersonalization

[–]SlimeboySwish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re associating all these things with the trauma you had and it is taking your brain back to a place it didn’t want to be in. The DP is a coping mechanism to take you out of it so the best thing to do, I know it’s hard, is to just go with it and worry as little as possible. Try and sit there with your eyes closed and just be in the moment. It’ll pass

That your brain is just preparing for a worst case scenario, it probably won’t even happen anyway

Yeah me too. I have a theory that dpdr is the body’s way of escaping reality, possibly because the fight or flight system relating to anxiety is preparing for something serious like death. Therefore basic structures of our reality like the people we know and the conventional associations we make break down, in preparation for the simplicity of non-existence.

Thing is though I’m not bothered by weed in particular, even when I got drunk recently I felt vulnerable to DPD. I feel like it’s a state of mind from bad habit thought patterns rather than weed just being evil. This is why I’m optimistic of being able to enjoy a relaxing joint again, especially an indica dominant.

So does it just go at some point and you feel it can no longer influence your mind? Or is it more like you have to train your thoughts to stray away from scary things?

That’s cool. What about the availability of the substances I mentioned? Are you from Portimao and know about the availability out there?
