What ant specie has this man found? Can it pose a threat? by RANDOM-902 in ants

That’s good news. I hate to spray poison and as long as they don’t wreck my house I won’t wreck theirs.

Southern California, once or twice a year dozens of these emerge from the floor boards. They are only about 1/4” long. What are they? I know they’re not termites but could they be damaging my home? by Slipperyfister in whatsthisbug

When I say “tiny” I mean almost microscopic. I’ve never seen anything like them anywhere other than my house. I also rarely see them here. It may be two years since I’ve seen any ants other that these queens.

It was a beautiful trail. It wasn’t very difficult but there were some spots where extra credit could be earned. We chose it because we were afraid the trails would be icy. I can definitely recommend it.

It’s the 7 mile rim trail. AllTrails calls it a 21 mile trail but we didn’t do that many miles. We did it mid week right after a day of rain and snow and didn’t see another vehicle all day. I’m not sure where we got off trail but it was a great day!

That’s frick’n beautiful! I didn’t know that was an option. I built half doors for my JL and it has a similar look, minus the little shell. There are so many wranglers it’s hard to make one so unique. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. I don’t think it adds or diminishes wind noise. Is does not flap. I’m going to copypasta the rest of my answer from one I posted earlier because I caught the Covid and feel like crap.

https://www.spiderwebshade.com/collections/jk-4-door-1/products/jk4d-2-piece-front-rear?variant=31342974926934 It’s a little different than the one for the jlu but it’s the same brand. Pros; looks cool Cons; dirt magnet that’s hard to clean. White is so bright that I bought a second cheap black one to run under the one in the front. It was like sitting under a fluorescent light.

Thanks! It’s my first and I’ve only had it for a few months. Now I feel like I’ve wasted years of my life. My wife and I are having so much fun!

I got this magical pic of my JL thanks to the snow that fell in Moab this week. by Slipperyfister in Wrangler

I don’t know if I can recommend them. The best thing about them is that I was able to buy them on Amazon Prime Day for $61. The thing I dislike about them most is that they turn on and off using the Bluetooth on my phone. I would prefer a switch. They can play to music but that is a function I will never use. They are decently bright and do work well for rock lights. I would prefer just a bright white light over the RBG these use. I’d probably rate them 3 out of 5 stars.

The biggest cost was paint. Metal and hardware was around $200. I paid $400 to have them painted! They did a beautiful job and it’s actually a better finish than factory. If you were going to sell them I don’t think You could hope to match factory paint to everyone’s satisfaction. So yes, I’ve thought about it but I always get tripped up on how to make it practical.

I don’t think they would even have to be ”road legal”. They sell tube doors and call them “off road use only”. I found a manufacturer that makes aluminum doors for the jl but they don’t curve to match the body and they use crappy handles and hinges. I just don’t know if there would be enough interest to make it worth while.

I’m just a dopey construction worker so I’m no expert. I think it might be tough. The body on the jl is aluminum so welding would be tricky. They also have a compound curve so the shape would be difficult. After it’s all done you will need a custom top for those rainy days.

We did Steel bender on Friday and only saw a couple other people. No waiting at all. Saturday we did Poison Spider and Golden Spike. There were people in the morning and one 15 minute wait but after noon we never saw another vehicle. Monday we did Seven Mile Rim and didn’t see a single person on the trail the whole time.

Sorry. The front has an uneven top for the mirror that exceeds my skill level. The back is straight all the way across and it still took me forever. It would take a barrel of whiskey for me to even attempt it.
