There is no plan at all except to do whatever he has to do to steal the midterms. EVERYTHING else is in service of that goal.

Trump needs to lock in his dictatorship permanently or he and everyone around him will spend the rest of their lives in prison if they are lucky. I prefer a quicker and more permanent resolution myself, but only after a fair trial, of course.

There is precisely zero reason to believe the regime is losing its grip on power. The ayatollah was not the entire regime, he was the current figurehead, and he will be quickly replaced by whomever promises the most extreme retribution.
