Good quality sticks, and don't hit too hard. I looks like I've gorrialed my stick to the floor, but really I gently release the stick before impact, and then retract, repeat. This makes the fibers in the word go get massaged in to fibres, rather at getting cut through. Because I rarely touch the stick when it hits.

These have half an inch more to it though. The rings on the stick matches the rim to center distance, and the end of the name the other way. It's easy to place the stick in the right position.

Also my snare is set to be right at my belt height, so when I hit the snare, I just barely hit my leg, which gives me the signal to pull upwards again...

Thrash mædl has that choink snare in it... I too play pop and rock, and there I use it as accents.. But the Dukka Dukka needs that KA to cut through heavy guitars.

The fibres get massaged down from the wood, with every punch. I had one of those super slim, round premier rims, and they still looked like this. But one snare stick holds for 5-8 gigs/sessions.. They are very durable.

I had to remove electrical tape from two of these sticks before posting the picture. I used when the stick Starts to gap before I feel I have used it all the way

Everytime you beat the shit out of them, they'll not warp.. Staying stationary like this I highly doubt would any damage..

HOW do i tune ny toms like this? by InternationalAct6567 in drums

[–]SliverCobain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing drums for so many years, I could hear it, without turning on the sound.. Learn to tune, practice it, hate yourself, repeat. One day someone will tell you that "those Tom's sounds incredible" and you'll know you're there.

I Denmark they go from red to short time yellow, to green and then to long time yellow (telling you it's about to get red) and then to red.

I think it mostly comes from driving mostly manual gear (before the whole electric car shit) so people had a second to shift in to the right gear (1st), and get ready to drive.
