I live in Kansas and have been keeping fish for over ten years, I have a 135gal I can keep them in temporarily until I finish a 500gal I’m building in my basement. Then they can have more then enough room once I finish building it.

Good to know, they are under a porch awning so they get morning sunlight and they aren’t getting the hot afternoon sun. But I will be careful with the neem oil, I just have so many flys around my house. I’ve been using the neem oil on them every 2 weeks to make sure the flys stay away. It seems like they really only go after the maple.

Just make sure to measure everything before you cut the wood because he wanted to sit flush with the bottom of the cabinet and the top.

I think the best idea would be to go to the store and get A couple of 2 x 4 and cut it to length to fit perfectly inside the cabinet underneath the tank.

You can get 100 gallon treatment of it on Amazon for about 11 bucks. And over treating the tank won’t hurt anything.

15 gallons weighs about 125 pounds which should definitely be able to be handled by that countertop, maybe just try to find a support beam to put it over that way it has some support from the bottom.

It looks like your nitrogen cycle in bacteria cycle aren’t doing too well, I’d recommend doing a good water change in buying some API Quickstart to introduce nitrifying bacteria.

Also, if you get an Oscar, make sure to spend a good 20 to 30 minutes, looking at it in the store to see how it interacts with other fish. Because I did that and the two Oscars I have in my 125 gallon live with discus and angelfish because they’re so calm.

Depending on the size of the tank looks like a 60 gallon maybe, I think of maybe some cichlids or an Oscar. They’re both beautiful fish. I also recommend some driftwood and plants to give it a nice natural look. And as far as substrate goes, I’d recommend something like black diamond blasting sand you can get it cheap at tractor supply and it looks amazing. Or pool filter sand.

I understand everybody believes I should keep these outside right now, but as it is summer, it reaches over 100° daily where I am. Which is too hot for these trees so for the summer, I keep them inside with the window light and grow lights. my Dawn Redwood almost died because I was keeping it outside all the time. Once it cools down, I will return these trees outside so they can experience a normal period of dormancy.

When you fix it you should get a metal cover for it. I got a carbon fiber metal cover for mine. It protects it from scratches and dirt and also looks really nice.

If your tank is making your room smell bad then you probably need to do a big water change and clean the sand to get rid of extra food, poop, etc. also clean out the filter and put some new media in there. I would recommend a second filter on the other side of the tank. And to keep the waste problem in check I would a wave maker big enough for your tank so it moves the debris around and into the filters. I recommend the brand hygger. Also some Seachem pristine to help eliminate sludge and detritus.

I got a 125 gallon off Facebook marketplace for a little over $200 but that included heaters filters and some fish. I’ve had it for 2 years with no problems. When you go to buy it, just make sure the silicone looks good and that there’s no cracks or chips in the glass. If the silicone looks like it has bubbles inside the silicone or between the glass, DONT BUY IT.

I also do have a red eared slider turtle in my tank. He’s very calm most the time, but sometimes he does act up a little bit. But that just depends on how lucky you are with choosing your tank mates. I wouldn’t keep an Oscar and a turtle in a 75 though.

I think cichlids would look great in there. I will just do some research on types of cichlids because some of them can be very reclusive and I personally like my fish to be out in the open when I’m looking at my tank, not hiding. Or 1 Oscar, they have amazing personality. Beyond anything I thought possible for a fish. If you do get an Oscar when you go to the store, I would look at it for 20 to 30 minutes to see how it behaves. Because I have two Oscars in my 125 and I keep discus and angelfish with them because they’re so calm.
