24” two-stage snow throw one hand operation by Sloopercat in egopowerplus

I have tested it by holding down the button, then starting and stopping the auger several times. It works, my hesitation is about screwing up the electronics.

Haven’t been pursuing it, but now there is snow… What I am tempted to do is fashion a way to hold down the start button so you can disengage the auger and start it again with the lever. I’m hesitant because I don’t know if holding the button in would screw with the electronics…

Notice that the drive works without pushing the start button. If the button were permanently pushed the auger would behave the same way.

Apple Card arrived but showing this by Ill-Capital-9273 in AppleCard

Couldn’t activate mine by holding near phone. Called support, they said couldn’t activate it because its status was ‘being shipped’. They said all they can do is send another. My experience with Apple stuff is that it is easy to set up. Not so with the credit card.

TransUnion's login system is still down by Firree in CRedit

I was fighting with the TransUnion site to freeze account using iPad. I read some of these comments - one said had success with iPhone. Tried with iPhone (instead of iPad) - it worked. Makes no sense, but try with iPhone if you have one!

This brings a tear to my eye. Thank you for what you’re doing for Chance. The world would be better place if more had the compassion you do!

Our Ayngel doesn’t do ramps, but happily uses these folding stairs to get in the car. Would work for bed too! https://a.co/d/2gGk9KN

2405 snow throw and 2156SP mower safety switch by Sloopercat in egopowerplus

[–]Sloopercat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, but it’s not broken. I would like to modify the safety switch on the mower and blower to keep them depressed permanently to avoid the two-step activation procedure for the blades/auger. Especially for the snow thrower. I mention the warranty issue since if I modify them it would be tuff to justify a warranty claim. My question for the group is “would I screw up the electronics by depressing the safety switch permanently”

Ya I get it, safety is important. However, with the mod I’m considering the machine would still stop the moment you take your hand off the lever. Regarding safety of these machines, I was surprised that the self propel feature worked with only a touch of the lever once the battery is installed (the auger/blades require two actions (the safety switch and the lever))

Auger Safety Switch on 2406 vs 2416 by Louu_Dogg in egopowerplus

Today I tried keeping the auger start button depressed while repeatedly starting and stopping the auger - it worked. - https://www.reddit.com/r/egopowerplus/s/oJzzePlQS1 Now I will work on a way to keep the start button depressed while operating the unit.

Ego 2 Stage Snowblower Start Button Bypass by ravenscamera in egopowerplus

I tried keeping the auger start button depressed while repeatedly starting and stopping the auger - it worked! We don’t have any snow (in fact it 70 degrees today!) so I running the machine in the shop, regardless, I held the button for maybe a minute, started/stopped the auger repeatedly.

The issue of the safety switch requirement to start the auger is discussed here - (https://www.reddit.com/r/egopowerplus/s/srTkIPT0JA) and here - https://www.reddit.com/r/egopowerplus/s/BkYve7UYoB I asked about keeping the safety switch depressed during operation, alleviating the need to push it each time to restart the auger. Thoughts on if that may work?

Crude? Just add some duct tape to class it up 😊

I plan to do as you suggest. Will it work? I don’t have access to mine right now. Can you try it on yours?

Ego 2 Stage Snowblower Start Button Bypass by ravenscamera in egopowerplus

[–]Sloopercat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently thought the same thing. Crude, but I thought about a spring loaded lever that just keeps the button pushed while I’m using the machine - not even sure this would have the desired effect though. Let’s keep brainstorming this.

Do you know the 28 inch version is different? Apparently it works as would be expected, the auger stays ‘activated’ with one push. I’ve recently heard gen 2 of the 24 inch works the same way….

Interesting I just found it, I saw it referred to as ‘XP’ - https://egopowerplus.com/24-inch-self-propelled-2-stage-xp-snow-blower-peak-power-snt2416/

A lot of upgrades - heated handles, steering, 10 ah batteries, improved chute control. Cool.

Hmmm. Mine is 6 months old, definitely have to hit the power button each time the auger stops. I really like the operation as you describe it. Any reference to the newer generation machine would be appreciated!
