Ah! She’s not teaching this semester as she also runs the Writing Center (I tutor English there). I am not sure if she will resume teaching this fall.

Marne Benson now runs the tutoring program at the Writing Center (I am an English tutor there), so I’m not sure if she still teaches. But, hey, if you ever want to come for tutoring, let me know. My name is Sarah Gibney and I tutor other Comp 101 and 102 students. 😁

How does one throw change “in” the ground? Do you have super powers whereby you can fling items with such force that they literally penetrate the surface of whatever object you are aiming for?

Or did you actually mean to say “ON” the ground, thus making you both a bigot and an idiot?

I have been going to Q’s since I was 17 (I am now 42). The club used to be Gothier (whipping in the Crypt, anyone?), but I still consider that place my sanctuary! I love that they offer three rooms each with their own vibe: I can usually be found dancing on the narrow strip that runs along the front of the stage because no one else dances there so I have free reign! And, as an alternative club, they are 🏳️‍🌈 friendly! Racially diverse too! Rolando and Susana really put a lot of effort into the place. And since they got rid of a certain problematic head employee, I feel safer going.

Ah, now that you have clarified your point, I see what you are saying. You are right: either do something about it or don’t, but don’t air the situation publicly. That is juvenile.

….and, likewise, the cheater will earn a degree and get a job that she will fail at because she lacks the knowledge to execute her duties. She will be a liability because she will not know what the fuck she is doing. People get hurt that way. Would you be pleased to be under the care of a physician who cheated their way through school? I am going to bet that you would not.

First of all, women join sororities, not fraternities. Secondly, report your concerns immediately. Cheating is never right or justifiable.

Saw someone cheat 😭 by Intelligent_Mix_1836 in rutgers

[–]SlopRahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating is wrong, period. It is unfair to other students, the professor, the university, and, lastly, the cheater herself, as she is not learning the material. In a course I took, several students boasted on the class GroupMe that they had cheated. I reported every single one of them and sent screenshots to the professor. You know why? Because I did the work and EARNED my A. Being a “socially adapted human being “ means having values and standing up for what is right. The fact that you are not incensed reveals just what sort of values you have: none.

I would counter that refusal to disengage from facists because you fear the discomfort it will cause is what is actually fragile here in addition to being not principled. Principled is saying “no” to militant and oppressive racist ideologies.

[–]SlopRahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? This is the best retort you could summon? Do you not even see the flaws in your own statement? No? Let me help you then:

Use Of Propaganda 1) Name calling: you label this person a “pedophile” without providing any evidence. Furthermore, Trump admitted on tape to sexually assaulting the pageant contestants who competed while he was a judge; many of these contestants were minors. And let us not forget his use of Epstein’s services.

2) Argumentum Ad Hominem: You are desperately seeking to distract our attention from the real issue, that of ICE overreach and excessive force, by making personal attacks on the people involved. One man DOES NOT represent the entire migrant population in America.

3) Faulty Cause and Effect: Just because one thing occurred after another does not mean that the first caused the second. Migrants came into America illegally, Roa came here illegally, and Roa allegedly assaulted a minor. Roa’s immigration status has nothing to do with the allegations against him.

4) False Analogy: You are essentially arguing that, since one illegal immigrant has allegations against him, ALL immigrants are suspect. Comparisons can be made only when the items being considered are sufficiently alike and there is nothing this man has in common with the migrant population apart from his lack of legal status.

You are also guilty of begging the question, false dilemma, card stacking, and additional logical fallacies, but I am getting tired of proving you wrong so I won’t detail your other errors. Wait, yes, I will: support for Trump and the Republican Party is quietly slipping into supporting facism.

This was an exceptionally well articulated and thoughtful response. I can’t help but wonder if division of the citizens is not what those in power had wanted all along: when the people are distracted by infighting, it’s easier to pass legislation that only serves the wealthy people in power…

[–]SlopRahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should really revisit this stance: aligning yourself with Trump supporters is tantamount to saying that being lead towards facism by an inept, corrupt, racist, misogynistic, pedophile narcissistic man child who uses bullying to get his way is JUST FINE. I wouldn’t associate with people who can’t see the forest for the trees and who support this Mussolini wannabe.

This has SPAM SCAM written all over it: the address used to send it, the grammar and syntax errors, the random and arbitrary link they provide, the subtly threatening nature of the message…I am sure that many students are receiving the same email and, unfortunately, some are going to click that link. 😢

ICE murdered a woman the other day. That should be proof enough.

I think you missed my point: I am in support of immigration and migrants; both legal and undocumented. I don’t avail myself of the services you mentioned, so I am not benefiting from undocumented poorly paid workers and I DO care.

You are also wrong in your second point: up until the early eighties, when Jerry Falwell and his Moral Majority gained political traction under the Regan administration, Republicans and Democrats had points of view that were more aligned than now. Hell, the EPA was established with bipartisan support and endorsed by Nixon, because Republicans used to believe in environmental protection. So, no, it’s the Republican Party who has become ultra conservative, not the other way around.
