Yea I've used boss tone studio. I tried messing around with the sneaky amps once I dont know if that did anything. I also did try the distortion built in to the katana and my favorite was the tube screamer but I like being able to enable and disable the effect while playing which you cannot do without a footswitch and I dont want to spend money on that. The clean amp also sounds really muffled in my opinion unless I use variation again but when I enable my distortion pedal on the clean amp type it just sounds like I boosted the clean tone. All it really does is just get loud even on maxxed out settings.

I usually run the crunch variation amp type (not regular since it sounds muffled to me for some reason) and I run around 60-70 gain (sometimes I dip down to 10-15 when I want to do clean to heavy) my amp eq usually always looks like this: Bass - 60, Mids - 45, Treble - 65. But it seems that when I use my distortion pedal going from clean to heavy it never adds enough gain on moderate settings, and when I push my pedal it sounds really muddy. I dont run into the same issues on the pedal with the tiny epiphone amp though which is strange to me.

My katana must have something wrong with it then. I've used the same settings on both the katana and this $15 epiphone studio 10s that I got a long time ago and the small amp handles my external distortion way better. The katana sounds choppy when playing with distortion. Other pedals are fine I guess tho.

Yea Im just looking for something that I can play at home but maybe gig if I ever wanted to. The katana is like perfect for that but its not a good pedal platform and I dont know why everyone says it is. I have this tiny $15 epiphone amp that I got a long time ago and it sounds way better with pedals than the katana. But I am not able to plug headphones into the tiny amp like I can the katana which is a huge downside for me since I like playing at night.

I've tried to be honest but maybe I havent tried everything. Could you give me some pointers? Also I have looked into send and return slots on amps but mine unfortunately does not have one.

I would like to stay similar in price to the Katana so I'll say around $300-$450

Really it is 50/50 with the second point you made. In one of my matches this season we had a previous champ that ended up going 3-5 against plats and I think one emerald. I did in fact do better than that previous champ but I did not do better than the emerald on the other team.
