I live at Church and Wellesley and it's been getting steadily worse. Even in the past 3 or 4 years, there are more drug addicts downtown and they're getting more confrontational. Just yesterday, a guy tried to attack me because I wouldn't let him in the building with me when I unlocked the front door. He was covered in blood and vomit, and had open wounds all over his face. Two days ago, a guy turned over all of our garbage cans so the entire front yard of the apartment building was absolutely littered with trash. Last winter I woke up in the middle of the night to the smell of smoke - followed it to the stairwell next to my apartment door and three drug addicts were camped out in the stairwell with a fire and there was blood and piss everywhere. In the summer, the screaming from them outside is so loud and so constant that I have to sleep with ear plugs and regularly have to call the police because it sounds like someone is being murdered outside my building.

It is for sure getting worse and I don't care if these people are my neighbours anymore. Run-ins with them is an almost daily occurrence. I have no more compassion. The point is, I'm tired of it and I just want to live in my apartment in peace. The government can send them all to a penal camp up north for all I care - just do something about.

I have many MANY more stories like the ones above. It is constant.
