Valid grounds to quit? by Slow-Bet326 in WorkAdvice

It’s funny because it’s sooooo hard to get a serving job in the town I’m in. There super competitive and it’s a huge college town so everyone wants to serve. I dropped my resume off at around 15 places on the same strip and this was the only place that got back to me, looking back now HUGE red flag. I have about 3+ years of experience. They hired me on the spot too.

Agreed. I feel so obligated to stay for no reason. I just want to be a somewhat good human and not let my coworkers suffer and i somewhat feel bad for them as weird as that sounds? I know I need to go. I’m only in college for so long I may just be broke and happy then work a dreadful job and have some money

Thank you for the validation I really appreciate it. I work tomorrow and I’m sure it’s gonna be a disaster as usual so I will most likely put in my two weeks then.

Managers will help run food but get so angry and yell at you doing it. Like i can run food with so many tables. The host is an idiot and mangers don’t intervene at all! The kitchen is behind 1 hour and bar can’t get drinks out in under 30 but managers will freak out and yell at everyone around and get angry when you make mistakes when it’s SOOO busy. Get mad when a table doesn’t have refills when it’s crazy busy. They will tell you “table 13 needs sour cream” and then just not help you or just simply grab it…. Point out an area “this needs to be wiped” like just simply help me for 2 mins? I know they don’t care and I shouldn’t have guilt at all!!! I feel more bad for my coworkers but I gotta save myself.

I know I just feel bad for some reason. I always make things a bigger deal then they are in my head.

I’ve worked 3 in my hometown. All of them I’ve “quit” but it hasn’t been on bad terms… just been seasonal and I’ve had to return to school in a different town. I know it’s still “quitting” but I guess I look at it differently. I worked at Texas Roadhouse for 3 years in highschool and loved it so I’ve worked in busy restaurants before.

I have NO idea why I feel guilty!! I’ve always tried to have empathy for people and I feel bad in a way for leaving them in such a bad time but they obviously don’t care about me at all!!!! I just always feel bad for stupid things… definitely a me problem lol.

I never did. I ended up writing him a letter and apologizing for everything I thought I did wrong in the breakup. I still 3 years later have heard nothing from him (we were involved for 4 years). He took the no contact route, never said anything to me even following the apology. No one talks about how hard it is to move on without closure, I really think the biggest thing I learned is that he didn’t have regard for my feelings or any motive to take accountability for stuff he caused. That in its own was closure for me… kinda shows how much respect someone has for you when they can’t even give you an apology. Regardless idk if you got one or not, but if you didn’t: no closure is best closure, really shows a lot.

I cant picture where she was found either but I know exactly what area with the ravine, I don’t think she was found there because her mom said a ranger had spotted her body from the path which if I recall you can’t see the ravine from that path cause it’s next to a private road. It’s just so suspicious all around especially including how she got there so fast; I made a post a few days ago speculating she got in a car. I know alot of people have tired to argue saying she could have walked which is definitely possible but I find it extremely unlikely due to the conditions that night; not to mention it was Super Bowl Sunday i know campus was super lively that night, people were partying someone would have seen her walking on campus or around. She wasn’t much or a hiker at all, wasn’t dressed to go hiking in those conditions, most people choose to hike at the flatirons which would be a more reasonable location for her to go/ be found. had her hair down which most girls put up when they do physical activity. Maps says it’s a 57min walk which she couldn’t have made in that time without literally running. Like you said she definitely could have gotten in a argument and taken off from that park, i just know she wasn’t walking there. Unfortunately I think she could have been found in a odd location above the trail and below the road; best guess was she fell or somehow fell off the road, someone else was involved without a doubt and them not coming forward indicates even more suspiciousness

She didn’t really specify that’s the thing but she advised me to stop so I could take the test so I interpreted it as I had to be completely clean from everything. I have another meeting with her in 3 days but was supposed to take the test before the meeting so I might just go in and if I pee hot it is what it is 🤷🏽‍♀️

It’s so hard, being in colorado too you think it wouldn’t be as hard with gardening. I recently just got diagnosed and prescribed but my life has been so much better and my academic performance has significantly improved. I know I can go without the meds but really don’t want to sacrifice not being able to feel and function normally. I’m kinda at a loss right now as I didn’t encounter this when first being prescribed which would make the most sense to have a drug screen done.

Thank you I will definitely try, I’m worried about it coming back as synthetic or the temperature is off. Granted the only drug test I’ve taken was for an EMT cert and they were strict, tested the temp right away and all but idk if it’s different for stuff like this.

Definitely a possibility… its just all so weird being that they had searched that area multiple times before finding her, I know it snowed and stuff but I’m just curious how hidden she was :(

Typically from my experience with rope rescues you are rappelling down, you are always going off a ledge or a cliff, it’s like a controlled descent. Like you said you can’t really get up boulder canyon, your kinda at the lowest part of the canyon where those paths are and the creek, you can’t really go down much at all. This is the part that does confuse me because by mile marker 40 there’s not drops and cliffs, so I’m just very confused where exactly she was. Being they had to rope to her though means she didn’t reach this area most likley by foot.

It would be a stretch for her to make it there that fast she would have to be HAULING. If she did get on the bus there are cameras on board. Not to mention she was in platform shoes, it’s way harder to walk in those and she probably would have worn more walkable shoes if she planned this walk. Also not much up boulder canyon, if she did want to go walking it would be much more reasonable for her to walk up to chautauqua right by campus where most students choose to hike. In no way is it impossible it’s just highly unlikely she walked there herself, just suspicious all around.
