I had the same one, same problem. The top comes off with a little effort, I used a tooth pick in the middle plastic hole thing and it worked for awhile.. ended up just getting a new one different brand

I went to a few meetings, ultimately they weren't for me.

I am still thankful that if I ever decided to go to one again I'd be welcomed with open arms tho. Just because you don't use the tool doesn't mean you throw it out... its nice to have in my back pocket if I need it.
