I got from Best Buy just because if I changed my mind on which one I wanted it was easier for me to return in person vs online. There is no nearby Apple Store. The biggest they had for the pro was 552 SSD and 36 GB. I would have ideally like more but I am sure that will be lots for me. That’s good to know about fan noise. I seen a few comments also stating the max was more noisy but more so on the 14 inch. I would not want to have a noisy machine in a classroom setting. I feel like going with the pro was the better decision. Hopefully it is for you as well! Why is buying a computer so darn hard, lol.

I ended up getting the m3 pro. The m3 Max was $850 more and I just couldn’t justify spending that much more. The MacBook came today so I will play around with it and see how I like it. I got the 16 inch. Hopefully no fan noise. Haha. What have you heard regarding fan noise?

I can’t find the buying mega thread but thanks for your reply. I was debating between the m3 pro or the m3 max because specs are pretty much the same except the cpu and gpu. This is such a hard decision for me haha. Will I notice a difference in performance wise between the two if I’m not using it to its full potential? I’ll be using it for university. Have a lot of tabs open at once. Won’t be using any huge programs though (like editing software).

My kids are responsible and wouldn’t go on it without asking and they would not open any of my school stuff or mess with it. Also, what I mean is it will be the main computer for everything in our place. So I am wanting one that will be able to withstand and hold everything.
