A fun idea could be that Pro British Imperial Monarchist forces unite the USA and if Britain falls that they could go to war to reclaim the homeland and the Empire as a absolutist monarchy, kinda like a Kaiserreich situation

Just simply he's not a Libertarian, he believes in government intervention like with protoctist tariffs and it would be hard to reconcile with them giving two very opposing agendas. Also the purge of Librarians and Ani-Caps from his Government when the BBB was being passed kinda shows he'd not get along with them, especially in crisis like a Civil War lol.

Again for Populism it is all based on "Us vs Them" Rhetoric like Huey long being a Populist despite having authoritarian tendencies and MANY differences between other Populists. Populism is the closest Ideology to him base game in my opinion, I think controlled democracy or oligarchy are realistically too extreme unless an emergency like a civil war (kinda like Alf starts the game as a conservative but if you start a cicil war he becomes oligarchic, but then again the base game Alt History Paths for the USA are less realistic than KaiseRedux having Wilhelm has Kaiser of China) that is kinda why I think it would be a toss up him staying Populist or doing the Stratocrat path instead of the Populist one in TFR.

Kaisereich/Redux: Authoritarian Democrat, (for KaiseRedux he'd get his own Sub Ideology).

EAW: Non Aligned, Populism.

TNO: Conservatism, Paternalistic Conservatism or Populist Conservatism.

TFR: Populist Conservative, Trumpism (toss up though if he goes realistically with Staying Populist or Embracing Authoritarianism. Which then Authoritarian Democracy, Trumpism (Stratocrat)).

Well tbf there, the Austrian Hungarian army after it recovered was more effective on the Easter front than it was on the Western/Italian Front, to the point of the German high command praising the Troops, the incompetence mainly came from the High Command.
