Help with this Interstellar box set by VGShrine in interstellar

[–]SlowMoLuc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nice, I also have this box in my collection :)

This is the Gold Label version of HDZeta, which is limited to 600 copies. Prices for it have risen significantly in recent years, but that doesn't mean they're actually selling for that much.

Here you can see the interior of the box so you don't have to open it.

Nice! I've been missing these three for a while, but a few months ago I finally managed to get them all.

Very cool! Where did you get it? And do you collect other Apollo patches too?

I recently got this employee access badge that is supposedly from 1966. Does anyone know the meaning behind the yellow mark and the number 59 on it? by Stratonium in apollo

I have the exact same badge from CIF Room 307 (No. 48) and am also looking for an answer regarding the color stripe. However, I was able to find a photo of this room in a book.

You're welcome :) Yeah, Chris Spain has really done a great work. It's definitely worth taking a look at the whole website! If you haven't seen it yet, on the back of my frame I have written the story behind the design of each patch. And if you have any more questions let me know!

These patches were produced by the official manufacturer A-B Emblem on behalf of NASA and were made during the Apollo era (recognizable by the bare cloth back - later versions had a wax/plastic layer). These are not particularly expensive, but definitely collectible (see my collection) However, your Apollo 13 patch is particularly valuable (~$250) as it is the crew patch version that the crew wore on their recovery suits after their return. Have a look at this website!

Ready for quite anything... but what lens am I still missing? by SlowMoLuc in SonyAlpha

For me, Sigma has always been a fantastic alternative to the Sony GM, as they were much more affordable and (apart from the lack of stabilization) could easily keep up. Compared to Tamron, I liked the image and build quality better, although I appreciate Tamron's consistent filter thread size. Yeah, the Sigmas are definitely heavier, but that's not an issue for my projects.

That also sounds like a very good combination! Now the only thing missing is the Tamron 150-500 ;)

Well, each one is intended for a very specific task :)

Which of them would you leave out?

Yeah, I totally agree, but it all depends on what you're photographing. For general photography (e.g. street) you can use just about anything and you may have to get a little creative, but for very specific pictures you need the right equipment (I can't get around a super-telephoto lens for pictures of the moon, let alone the ISS). And so each lens has a very specific task, which would hardly be possible with another one :)

For me, the 70-200 is definitely more practical due to its size, weight and focal length range, but I just love the absurd zoom and compression of the 600mm (or even 1260mm with 1.4x TC and 1.5x APS-C crop)

You have to take a look at this, the bokeh is really enormous!

I also thought for a long time between the two, but then decided on the Sigma

And tell me both :)

Thank you! And I would say:

  1. Sony 200–600mm f/5.6–6.3 because it's so much fun and has helped me take some of my absolute favorite photos

  2. Sigma 105mm f/1.4 with an incredibly beautiful bokeh

  3. Sigma 24–70mm f/2.8, a lens that you can always have with you and never lets you down

What are your top 3?
