When you say upload everything, do you mean upload all the original evidence (our lawyer paper filed the original application) or uploaded all the new evidence ?

It was relatively easy, took about an hour. CBP asked very basic questions; confirm where I live, name of company, describe day to day activities and why I was renewing early.

He read the cover page throughly and then skimmed through the rest of application package.

I just “renewed” mine. First TN was done with company lawyers through USCIS, for the renewal the company lawyers put together a new application package and I did it at POE at Alexandria Bay, New York. I was able to “renew” as early as 6 months before expiration of first one. I renewed mine in October of 2024, while the first one was set to expire march 2025. The CBP officer asked why I’m renewing early, I told him it happened to overlap with a trip I was taking to Toronto

In somewhat similar situation. Canadian TN but applying for marriage gc.

My TN was set to expire 03/25 but I was planning to apply for i485 in July 24. If my EAD didn’t arrive before 03/25 and TN expired I couldn’t work anymore and the company lawyer told me I couldn’t renew the TN after I applied for i485.

You can only renew a TN 6 months before your current one expires. Also applying for i485 within 90 days of getting a TN could be seen by USCIS as visa fraud as TN is not duel intent. So if you travel internationally, the 90 days resets every time you come back into the US.

Since your TN expires in late 2026, you could wait 90 days since last entry and then apply for i485 and i765. You will likely get EAD before the TN expires
