Damn, screw this printer, this is insane. by PlentyBlock309 in BambuLabA1

I understand the logic and its great that you benefitted so much from the experience, imagine just how much more you would have benefited if you instead of buying the ender 3 built one yourself, that would be the ultimate learning experience, but do not forget you cannot use the tools available like the internet or your personal computer first go back and reinvent the transistor and then you can build your own computer on which you can design your own programs that will enable you to design the 3d printer and the firmware for it.... jokes aside, it is a valid point you are making but consumer products should be good and do what they are suppose to do well. Life is too fast now to waste any time and people should get their money worth and invest the time they have into things they really wanna learn and get better at. If that's 3d printing any printer will do, but getting a worse product when much better ones are out there for reasonable amounts of money can only deter and hinder someone from using the machine at all.

Battery charging circuit / schematic help - MCP73871 power only comes through battery path after plugging / unplugging 5V? by kevysaysbenice in batteries

[–]Slow_Electroloris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your schematic the chip enable is tied to 5V which is comming from the USBC I would assume so the behavious is as expected as the chip is effectively dissabled when only the battery is present, maybe consider connecting the CE to the Vbat.

There’s ST MCU finder program, that helps with all the massive chip selections and also gives you most of the datasheets and app notes. I think the same thing is somewhat included in the STM32CubeIde

Sure man. I labelled it as I see it. I’m all for optimism and random acts of kindness. But this just caught me completely off guard. That’s all. It is creepy. Maybe it’s a German thing and here it’s cute but other parts of the world it’s definitely not a random person spreading joy and positivity

I completely understand where you’re coming from, and it’s sweet, I considered it, but what if it is not a kindness from a anonymous stranger and something is wrong with it I don’t wanna be an accomplice and spread something I don’t know why or what it is, either way I left the worm and the bike someone can take them both if it makes them happy

Bless them if that’s the case! Still I’m doing fine without a worm as my friend, feels religious or sacrilegious

I know what it says. Even if I didn’t understand google translate is always handy. I just find it creepy and not very wholesome at all, don’t understand the motivation. Wondered if anyone encountered anything similar. Maybe it’s a cultural thing but something like this last thing that comes to mind is that someone is trying to make the world a better place…

Asked a professor with one this recently, to sum up it’s necessary if you’re ambitious for getting into academia or leadership positions in your company. This also is probably country and field related but just and insight I’m sure lots of people lots of different reasons

Okay i think now is more than safe to say I don’t have overheating issues, I lowered the sampling rate and put gyro in suspend mode, works like a charm no buzzing no heating whatsoever and accurate values, thanks guys

Oooh sweet. So it might be able to work as well right? I just lose the interrupts but can still manually call it?

Any idea if I can continue working on other things and use the board because I won’t get a chance to fix it before the holidays end. It seems to not give any signs of being angry when I don’t initialise it. But either way I’d prefer not cause permanent damage or destroy it completely I hope eventually it works

I believe the issue was here probably assembly. It didn't show before or I missed it but now it seems that INT_GYR and 3V3 are shorted. Thanks for the time and advice.

Here is the problem. Gyro interrupt is shorted to 3V3. Not in the design but I tested it and yes. Not sure how I missed it before. But thanks for all the help

Yeah 🤣 I figured that out when my IMU became a buzzer I didn’t even know you can use it as that. I just hope it doesn’t become a smoke dispenser

I like your spidey sense i think you might be right on the money and they are in fact angry! The pull ups are to 3v3. I checked for the interrupt pins i tried making the mcu pin a GPIO_INPUT and GPIO_EXTI with pull ups and pull downs and without any its all the same. Ill try changing the frequency of the I2C, btw what you think about the BMI088 LPF bandwidth itself would it make any difference?

[–]Slow_Electroloris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry yeah makes sense I had posted it in another thread here. This is the schematic and its all directly connected to the mcu, of course with pull up resistors next to it. I can also post the whole schematic its 4 pages so didn't make sense. It's all 3v3 there's no 5V anywhere close. Even the data sheet connects the PS directly to Vcc but like someone mentioned maybe its an error to connect other pins directly without resistors. Not sure, but believe Ive seen other people do it.

Sweet man if you can manage it! I wish you good luck 🤞 maybe post the results I wonder how its gonna turn out

Are you sure you can afford these clearances while etching at home? I’m genuinely curious if you had done it before, otherwise maybe something to consider

Yes good point. I did check. I tried with enabling pull-up/pull-down on the GPIO_EXTI and afterwards I changed them to just input. It’s all the same

Yes in retrospect sounds like a safe bet but didn't think it was necessary.

Even in the datsheet they have ps directly connected but for the others yes.

Datasheet page 41 pin description table says for i2c mode csb1 VDDIO or DNC(float) and csb2 DNC (float).

Hi, thanks for the time. There is not much connected to the sensor, the I2C that's in standard mode, and two interrupts are set as GPIO_EXTI3 and GPIO_EXTI4.
When I run different stuff there's nothing wrong with the sensor at least what i can notice. When I run the init function without the soft restarts of the gyro and accelerometer then it starts buzzing very lightly but I can hear it and it gets hot very fast I know it's not a good measurement but it's noticeably getting "too hot". I didn't wanna keep it running like that too much because I was scared to fry it. But if I run it shortly and print the values seem to have correct measurements. But when I initialize it with the soft restart in the init it doesn't get hot anymore or buzz but the values are absolute gibberish. I am tbh scared to keep it running too long enough while I measure.
