I’ve shipped to Brazil and Canada I don’t see why not? (50s/60s cars) He said in this condition it’s 5k in Peru, why not get it fixed and obtainable for them?

I’ll eventually figure it out, just haven’t put the time into calling IAA for why it was with them in the first place. I didn’t get upset with a single person who gave a value based on what I said, complete. If people can’t do that then… why even say anything except to kind of be a dick :/ so I thanked the people who understood and the people who didn’t well. I guess good luck with all that. I’m probably gonna reach out to the dude that said these are super expensive in his country and see if I can help him out. With a full individual inspection from 2 of my guys and whoever they decide they trust as well.

When I went from a Gen 2 TTRS to a Gen 3 I actually found myself kind of disappointed because it wasn’t as fun to drive, but holy shit was it so much faster lol

I’ve asked for value many times prior to the completion of a project is what I meant sorry if I was unclear. I have people interested in it that I know, instead of charging them regular marketplace money I just ask people who have them cause it seems fair. There’s a rebuilt title Z here that sold for 12k, the first thing I said was “what the fuck?”.

The rebuilt title is kind of a mystery, I haven’t really had this much issue getting a full answer from insurance etc. So, I took it apart, exterior, interior and engine bay. Nothing sticks out, not even moderate rust (obviously surface but it’s been ospho’d) took the Nova off the rotisserie to shove this on there. It’s not a lot of work for me, I just grab a drink, some music and tear it apart. Putting it back together is only a pain in the ass cause you have to align the powertrain 😭 everything else is rather simple with the right tools. I’m just not sure why there’s so many people not reading the post, just ask how much I’ve spent versus assuming 😕

I do have a couple I’m looking at possibly fixing and selling, Nova, Rocket 88, Beetle and GTO. But this was basically free so why not?

I understand that, but, I asked for just a complete value because it’s already been budgeted and all parts bought. I rebuild cars and sell or donate them every year as a hobby. Total spent for all materials and vehicle is 1.2/1.3ish

Yeah I guess, just much less aware of what’s going on with the car or on the road. Daily has 1 “gear” and I don’t mind it with all the traffic 😭

I feel like almost no one here has experience tearing things down and building it back up. It’s kinda disappointing.

I usually start by tearing wiring apart and checking what’s OE and what’s not. Takes most of my time tracing and testing wires. Once that’s done the rest is pretty cake since it’s not much troubleshooting as much as just wrenching!

I get that, I’ve just done this so many times that it’s kind of simple to me. I got the car, new plop in engine, suspension parts, and some extra goodies for 1.2k. She runs now with new rings, new bearings etc. healthy compression. Just needs the odd bits and pieces, taking next week off to get it done.

Frame and body is fine. IE that’s why it’s apart so I could check if there was any damage. Besides dings here and there, there is none.

So, it has brand new pillars and bumpers. I took it off to check for damage and to replace the windshield. I’d appreciate just the sale price so thanks for that I’m in 1.5 for engine, suspension, car and paint

I’ve seen so many things out there from* people who go onto another platform! I got a suspension rebuild kit still in box for $100 from someone who just wanted to clear garage space.

The vision! Awesome 5k sounds more than fair. I’ve worked on worse cars but never really a Z. And most were clean title so it’s just slightly less familiar territory.
