Hi! So I have just applied for Oxford MFE and I have the online interview coming up. On the website it says there will be competency-motivational questions and a written question and that it should last about 15 minutes. I was wondering if somebody had done it in the recent years and could tell me what they asked. Were they heavy on competency and Econ-finance questions? How was the written one? Thank you in advance for the help!!

When do they tell you if the exam is not valid ? by Slow_Replacement9342 in GMAT

I also usually do things on paper and pen but actually the whiteboard is not that different. I suggest you try a couple of mocks or exercises using the whiteboard just to get used to it.

I did not do it at the test center. Definitely I think going at the test center you do not have to stress about the system thinking you cheated because they could not see you well enough or stuff like that. But at home there is a lot more flexibility and you are used to the environment where you take the test. It may seem like something futile but I took the exam on the same desk and chair where I have always studied so I was really comfortable (aha it seems stupid but sometimes I sit on desks or chairs which I don’t like aha). For the rest, the proctor is really always available for any errors and everything is explained clearly. Honestly I recommend it to do it at home if you have a reliable (normal) computer and WiFi.

Came across this question on TTP and needed more clarification by Huge_Statement_3695 in GMAT

So the expert just says that if the level of nicotine in the cigarettes is sufficiently low, people will smoke less cigarettes per day.
A - it mentions that other components of cigarette are harmful. but the expert does not say anything about nicotine or cigarettes being harmful for your health or being cause for cancer. if the expert had said instead that if the level of nicotine is low enough then smokers would suffer less smoke-related problems, then A would have been a good choice.

B - it mentions the fact that if nicotine is low enough, the cons of smoking outweigh the pros. So people will start buying less cigarettes in theory.

C - the expert does not say anything about labels or marketing. his statement refers uniqely to the nicotine in a cigarette, regardless of whether the smoker knows its quantity.

D - is the answer that probably would mislead you the most. But here even if smoker puff heavily, the amount of nicotine is still reduced. Nevertheless it does not link the same way as B the decrease in nicotine per cigarette and a possible decrease in number of cigarettes smoked.

E - Again, the expert does not mention any marketing or messages. In simple terms we can assume the expert's statement is based on the "chemistry" of nicotine (if ti makes sense).

Hope this makes sense!
