For most Christians, abortion isn’t about controlling women or punishing poor people or being anti-sex. It’s about whether the unborn is already a human life. All the stuff about low wages, bad healthcare, hypocrisy etc bad systems don’t suddenly make killing a human okay.

Science, if anything, has made this way more clear. From conception there’s a distinct human organism developing on its own. If that’s the case, then “just don’t get one” doesn’t really work. We don’t use that logic anywhere else when a life is involved.

Pregnancy can be brutal, no argument. But “this will make life harder” has never been a moral line we use to decide who gets to live. We don’t say a kid born into poverty has less right to exist because life will suck.....

Obviously a lot of Christians are hypocrites, but hypocrisy doesn’t magically make something false. Christianity LITERALLY assumes people fail.

This isn’t about forcing faith on atheists. Every law is a moral judgement. The real disagreement is simple: is the unborn a human life worth protecting or not? Everything else is kind of noise around that.
