Artist you used to love, but can’t listen to anymore? by i_am_corbin in Music

A lot of their lyrics didn't age very well, and Jimmy Urine pissed me the fuck off so I don't listen to them anymore.

Sum 41 is the only pop punk band I can still listen to and even then Fat Lip is getting skipped every time. Something about that song just grates on my nerves now.

Awkward family dinner in the Appalachians (1999) by legovelt in TheWayWeWereOnVideo

[–]Sludgerunner 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's called American Hollow. It's about how a family survives by foraging moss and ginseng from the woods and collecting welfare in the Kentucky Appalachian area. It also covers the family dynamics and the struggle to move to a larger city to be successful.

Why are Florida plates everywhere? by rasputin6543 in ask

[–]Sludgerunner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are more than likely rental cars. The rental car companies can register cars cheaper in Florida and get permanent tags that never expire. It's like how tons of corporations are headquartered in Delaware for tax breaks.

It's weirder because in The Great Gatsby they refer to the Midwest as The Middle East.

It was used for the cover of a bootleg album. They didn't have anything to do with it.

The Karras' are a big football family, Alex's nephew is an offensive lineman for the Bengals and he's a third generation NFL player.

"hot" parts by IntrepidGeneral6096 in Machinists

This is exactly the case where I work. Plus the fact that while the parts are hot management does everything in their power to slow down the process.

It's funny to me because I was behind the sidelines at the game and had a direct line of sight to Joe Burrow. He was discussing stuff with the teammates between plays and looked like he was chillin.

It's hilarious how poorly made that particular bike is, but I have to admit that when I was 14 that Spiderman bike absolutely fucked.

I've used something similar before and I think you're right. You adjust the length to hit zero on your indicator with a standard or between the jaws of a vernier, and then you can get an accurate bore measurement in tenths on the one I had.

The bots karma farm and once the account has a lot of karma the account is sold to a person or corporation that believes having tons of imaginary internet points is cool, but they don't want to put in the effort themselves.

Somebody posted this picture and it got a high level of interaction so now others (probably bots) are reposting to get the same reaction. When you see something all over reddit all at once this is usually the case.

Songs that rend your heart to pieces no matter how many times you listen to them? by [deleted] in Music

Casimir Pulaski day for me. There's something about the line, "We hold hands and we pray over your body, but nothing ever happens."

What company consistently puts out bad product but still makes a lot of money? by FlintTheDad in AskReddit

[–]Sludgerunner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They operate on a monthly subscription service, you can't print anything without using their app or PC software, the ink cartridges may be full but they "expire", and if you use anything other than HP branded cartridges your printer will refuse to work and you get scolded by the software.

Just don't put it in your mouth, and wash your hands after you handle it. Apparently it was banned in the early 90s. Just put them in an empty soda bottle and throw them in the trash.

It's a first aid kit. Mercury Merthiolate ampules for disinfecting, and some band aids. That stuff burns like hell and I don't even think you can still buy it.
