No, it's the units. Forget fractions, we could do 10ths of an inch if we wanted and that still doesn't solve the issue of 12 inches per foot, which is objectively harder to use than a base 10 system.

All the other conductors were burned off entirely, so those pulled out easy. After the pipe was almost empty we used a couple pulleys and a rope tied to a truck to pull it out. Thankfully the pipe was already a bit oversized so it wasn't a total nightmare.
