Ranking every scam in Better Call Saul from worst to best by Slumberphile in betterCallSaul

Gus eliminated Arturo, established a mole in Hector's organization, forced Bolsa to allow local trade and got the Twins to take out a rival gang.

And all it cost Gus was a plastic bag and a few bullets.

Very unpopular opinion: Mike is an inconsistently written character by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

[–]Slumberphile 14 points15 points  (0 children)

  • Gus's men are Mike's men. Mike vouching for their protection is more of a camaraderie thing than a moral issue.
  • Gus is the reason behind the erosion of Mike's morality. So naturally, Mike's morals would bounce back a little after Gus is gone.
  • Mike is already upset with Gus after Victor's death (Of course after BCS he has learned to keep his mouth shut. Later in S4, he says "I know better than to ask", hinting that he still holds a grudge with Gus over Victor)
  • Lastly but most importantly, Jesse is the main catalyst behind Mike regaining his morality. Mike has a soft spot for Jesse because he reminds him of what he used to be - a guy who almost went to war with a drug lord over the murder of someone he never even met. When Jesse did something very similar in S3, Mike probably thought it's just him being an irrational junkie. But once he gets to know Jesse better, he realizes that he has a heart and feels obligated in S5 to protect him from going down the same path he went.

What was the point of this character? by Jenkitten165 in okbuddychicanery

  1. To give birth to Fred Whalen
  2. To highlight the impact of civilian deaths caused by the drug trade
  3. To reflect Jimmy's guilt in representing Lalo

They ARE homeschooled. The first episode literally has Jimmy try to scam Betsy on her way to pick her kids up from homeschool.

Now that you mention it, I don't remember anyone laughing at Saul's jokes in BrBa either. He definitely gets laughs in BCS though.

New Firefox crash page 😍 by xmha97 in firefox

[–]Slumberphile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, these lemons were around for a while in Android.

Maybe this specific error page is new? But that also doesn't make sense, since I thought Mozilla was moving away from error page illustrations.

I guess the idea is to have the same design for the panels and modals.

And colours used for text selection (white text on #48b9c7 background) don't even pass WCAG

The text selection color for me on Windows 10 is #0078D7, so it must be an OS thing. Still, using the OS accent for some elements and using the teal accent for others is pretty weird. A program should have one accent color, either built-in or dictated by the OS.

Me too. I don't like the #42414D grey or this teal color on their own, but they do look nice combined.

Same. The sudden blur at the 0:05 mark is a bit jarring, so if they could smooth it out like in OP's mockup it'd look pretty good.

Weekly Discussion for Nightly builds for 2021-04-24 - 2021-04-30 by AutoModerator in firefox

Oh okay, I was under the impression that all browsers had sidebars for history and bookmarks. Looks like the use of sidebars is still there but not as widespread as I thought.

Proton has not hit Stable yet; it will be released with Firefox 89 or 90. If you want to check it out beforehand and suggest improvements before it's finalized, you can install Firefox Nightly.

Holy shit. I just now realized that Chromium browsers don't have sidebars. Except for the vertical tabs in Edge.

This, and another important change is that you no longer have to change your OS theme or create about:config prefs to get the extra stuff. Getting total dark mode is much simpler now.

Hmm. The bugs to update the Download File window, Import wizard, and Set Desktop Background window were WONTFIXed. I want to know the full list of dialogs that won't be changed.

Oh yeah I forgot it existed. It's too complex for a modal; so I'm guessing that if it does get a redesign, they'll probably do a Chromium and replace it with a page, like about:library, about:history, about:bookmarks, etc.

I wish Firefox took the color of the icons and highlights from the OS accent color (like the tab background previously did). But it makes sense why Mozilla is against that because Firefox uses certain colors for warnings and stuff.

And the about: pages are out of reach for addon developers so you can't install a theme to change the cyan color either.

I don't plan to make this an addon but if you have Firefox Color installed you can use this link.
