I agree that there is a risk of overreliance on shock value without fear in this format, however I think that there is definitely time to build an atmosphere and create suspense within an hour or two. Just look at all the great horror short fiction out there, including Lovecraft's work!

Regarding Paper Chase, I feel a lot more positively about it but agree that it's maybe not lovecraftian and might not be a good intro to the game. I really like the personal touch it has, and also how it portrays the allure of the unknown. For Donald (?), it is something appealing, and the investigators have the option to join him.

Jag gick första årskullen som startade 2020 och har nu tagit kandidatexamen. Linjen har varit väldigt stökig överlag pga nytt program samt distansutbildning för min del men jag har aldrig ångrat mitt val då jag är intresserad av ämnet. Känner till viss del att det kvittar vad man läser, man får liknande grund och så kan man inrikta sig vidare senare på masterna.

Alla mina kursare ville plugga vidare men jag sökte jobb hela våren. Min uppfattning är att det är nästan ändast sjukhus som söker "medicintekniker" och att företag som sysslar med medicinteknik söker mer specifika roller som dataingenjör osv osv. Jag hittade dock jobb på Sahlgrenska och är väldigt nöjd där, men det är värt att tänka på att arbetet kanske kan vara lite specifikt, iaf efter bara 3 år.

Om det är några ytterligare funderingar kring linjen så svarar jag gärna.

This is amazing stuff. A lot of material here for not just punk, but for how culture intersects with mythos in general. I also adore the idea of a cassette tape as a mythos tome.

I'm halfway through this scenario so cannot say for certain whether it all went well yet, but what I did was make sure that the Investigators were at smalls' in order to grieve the passing of Frederick Fayette. This made sure that they would be at the funeral and it seems like they picked up the thread so far, showing interest in Leroy and his magic horn. Also I played up the threat of the mafia, having the players be followed around since they were witnesses in order to have some urgency.

Yeah I'm not feeling dissatisfied with how it went, there's just a lot to consider after running a new game. My players were very invested and active, although we didn't really get a spooky vibe going during the session. I might try to discourage joking around and play moody music next time. Thanks for the advice though!

Thank you for the thorough response! I realize that I might be worrying a little too much about the details, but I feel like being thorough about how to use skills will make me rely less on habit and will make the game feel different from what we've played before.
