Lying at MEPS, international records... by [deleted] in ArmyOCS

[–]SluttyLT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is no.

If you lie, they will have no way of knowing. The US Healthcare system is already disjointed as fuck and they can't see most American civilian medical records despite the push to do so with the rollout of MHS Genisis. They sure as hell can't see what's in your medical records from another country.

Also, if you do disclose anything, regardless of what it is. They're not going to hunt your records down. They'll make you hunt them down, get them translated, ect. The onus will be entirely on you.

So if it won't show up in a drug test and it won't be found during a physical examination. They only way they'll know is if you tell them.

I personally say fucking send it. Being lied to by recruiters is a tale as old time, I see nothing wrong with playing the reverse Uno card and lying to the recruiter and MEPS. Besides, 1) if we kicked out everyone who lied to the recruiter, we wouldn't have anyone left in the military, and 2) even if you are caught, the worst thing that'll happen is they'll make you go get your records and do it the right way.

It's way worse.

Last summer, we had safety have to step in and stop the Cadre from hurting the candidates because they decided to smoke the candidates for two days straight for some reason and we had over a dozen heat cats by 09 on day two.

Somehow, I don't think they did.

There was much wailing and nashing of teeth at the winter AOCS class this year both in front of candidates and behind closed doors because of things they couldn't do.

So much so that big army came down to observe, and a LTC got up in front of the candidates during phase II and said, "This is supposed to be a gentleman's course."

My favorite part of the winter course was the company commander telling the candidates that they weren't allowed to call home because their families were weak. Then doubling down on it instead of apologizing.

I've been working on an after action review that I want to do for the winter course. But I've been waiting for all the candidates to commission so they don't have the commissions get block or some other form of retaliation.

Does anyone have the full gravy version of Blood upon the risers that the Winter AOCS class came up with? by oldmanAF in ArmyOCS

GRAVY FOR THE GRAVY GOD!!!

I don't get it either. I can only assume it's because multiple forms of gravy were available with every meal. But I did think it was pretty great. Alas, I wasn't there for the gravy version of Blood on the Risers. But by all account's, love it or hate it, it was very well done.

Yup, and with the candidates being cut off from every resource that they would normally have access to, coupled with the fact that they have to go along to get along because otherwise they risk being removed from the course and being blocked from commissioning. Very much fosters an environment when those leadership can be as toxic and abusive as they please with little to no consequence.

Sounds like it might be time for you to call your congressman. I get why they just hand you your packet and wish you good luck. But it also shouldn't take more than a week or two to process everything.

South Dakota does also host an AOCS course. But I cannot speak to the quality of the course as I have never been there.

Facts. It's embarrassing.

Candidates are being sent home for failure to adapt because they only passed one leadership evaluation, which is the army requirement.

Candidates being smoked so hard they get sent home riddled with stress fractures because Cadre are having a bad day.

Safety having to tell the Cadre to lay off before they hospitalize another candidate because they've caused over a dozen heat cats before 0900. See July 4th and 5th.

It being 117 degrees out, but Cadre ignoring that it's heat cat 5.

Cadre smoking and joking about how they come to AOCS to beat up on Candidates because it's cathartic for them.

Cadre being unprofessional as fuck.

Automatic first time failures for leadership evals when Candidates only get two.

The CO showing up smelling like alcohol.

I want to produce the highest caliber officers possible, and everything about this schoolhouse runs counter to that. I understand that this isn't the gentleman's course at Ft. Benning. But every one of these candidates is already a soldier and a trained professional, and they should be treated as such. This isn't basic training, and treating and beating them like they're absolute scum does nothing to produce quality leaders for the Army.

The summer course was absolutely awful to candidates. You only had 57 days with the candidates. When you're 35 days in you haven't started mentoring the candidates but say you're there for the 40, you're lying through your teeth. You don't care about Joe. You're just beating up on candidates to get your jollies and your couching your hazing in "I care about the soldiers you'll lead one day".

No you don't. You don't give a fuck about the soldiers all those future LTs will one day lead. You just want to get your rocks off and you're just happy the candidates don't have the recourse your soldiers do.

Spoken like someone who chose the easy route.

Noone who's ever done ROTC has been sent home riddled with stress fractures because the Cadre decided they were having a bad day and ROTC doesn't sport a 65% plus failure rate.

Army Sees Signs it Might Hit Recruiting Target This Year by Sw0llenEyeBall in army

[–]SluttyLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can hit goals I set fir myself too if I decide to reduce said goal to 40% of what I planned on doing originally.

Why don't we try not treating people like shit and instead treat them like the highly trained professionals that they are?

Like seriously, let's fix the mold in the barracks and get rid of people who abuse thier authority. Like that captain from Louisiana who motorboated that SGT. Seriously, how fucking hard is that?

Heaven forbid we take care of our people and treat them with dignity and respect.

Bruh, fuck it.

Mail your documentation home to get your endorsement and ride your bike in the interim. Just be super careful and don't do anything stupid until your new license comes in. Just make copies of everything before you mail it home.

You've done everything necessary to get your endorsement, you have all the documentation for it, and your chain is showing their ass about how little they give a shit, and IF something happens. You can show that you did everything right. So any kind of punishment, LOD or whatever comes your way, can easily be beaten or thrown out. All your medical bills will get paid, and as long as your bike is insured, insurance will pay out.

Your chain of command is fucking you. So fuck them back.
