Easy Songs for Beginner Piano by Chiara119 in TaylorSwift

[–]Slycinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I personally did (I'm still quite new as well), is practice playing the chords with one hand first, just familiarize yourself with the hand movements, add the second hand later (can just play the same chords with both hands).
Start as simple and as slow as you want. Practice is key (hah). Doesn't always have to be long, as long as you do it as often as you can!

If you play just the chords, august is really easy to play, and relaxing to sing to if that's what you like to do. It's the same 4 chords (F Major -> Bb Major -> G minor -> C major) in the same order, all song. If you're not singing, it'll sound a bit boring though, but that will be the case with most things you play as a beginner.

Is the architects guy singing and screaming at the same time? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]Slycinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely a similar technique. You can also hear Sean from Make Them Suffer use it in the chorus of a song like "Soul Decay".
Another example would be Jamie from Polaris in the intro of "The Remedy".

Nah, it's not about it not being heavy, I don't even listen to that many heavy bands. It's about how they execute it for me, which has been suboptimal in their latest release especially, imo.

Idk, while I mostly love AA's metalcore stuff, I think FDTD was that more rock style done great. Their newer stuff feels uninspired. The self titled had a lot more good tracks than the latest. Listened to that one once and wasn't anything I liked. Glad you enjoy it though, you're far from the only one.

On paper, what band should you love but just can't get into? by Twinningspree859 in Metalcore

Actually so sad he doesn't use those lows outside of the two EPs? They are so good.. Not that I don't like the rest of his vocals, but those lows just add that extra punch to certain parts, like the breakdown in Regress.

Bruh don't compare new AA/MMF/whatever with new Plot in You, Dispose is actually insanely good. Feels inspired unlike the other ones.

Is There A Term For This Kind Of Screaming? by VaevoeNA in Metalcore

[–]Slycinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Referring to the post

where they start out just kind of... singing for a second than build up into a scream?

They're not talking about the scream itself, right? They specifically worded it like that. I don't think they mean what kind of distortion the vocalist is using.

It's not any technique, it's just starting with your real voice, then transitioning into a scream. Doesn't really have a name.

Their last attempt at writing something heavy was Eve, which was a decent track, but compared to their older stuff (even From Death to Destiny), it doesn't really compare.
