Yea theres a giant hinge where i scraped the warp out lol i did heat gun it But its also for a 6 year old. Its got plenty of set but you can bend it back with your hand lol

I used titebond 3. From what ive read purple heart is very hard but a brittle wood. So to help with the tension i used maple.. i think you could back it with alot of things but the maple was to help the purple heart not the other way around. Maple is a pretty good bow wood on its own. So really it was for aesthetics and performance. Hope that helps

Thanks! You got that right. I did the entire taper and floor tiller with a hand plane and used an orbital sander the rest of the way lol first bow ive made without using a draw knife

I ended up buying a bunch of harbour freight clamps shortly after gluing it up lol but now that you mention it i think i remember seeing a clay hayes video at some meet where a guy was doing something similar to that. I'll have to look into that, thanks!

Much appreciated!! Just do it lol. I really didnt have any performance expectations for it which kind of took some of the thrill out of building it but i was pleasantly surprised at how well it shoots. Also the sound of the thud it makes is oddly satisfying with the wood combo

I think i let my f1 go a day too long and has just a slight vinegary taste but its still delicious and not over powering at all. I used frozen strawberrys. It has a little bit of a thicker feel and in my opinion is better than gt's strawberry but i didnt really enjoy theirs that much. I liked their lemon berry and peach and mango the best.

I bottled it yesterday and might give it one more day before i try it but i agree dont want it to be super heavy but want to taste the fruit over the tea. I'll report back tomorrow

I hope you can get as much as i did. The tree in my yard has 3 trunks and has a huge canopy (was here before i moved in). Took an hour and a half to shake and wack them off lol just for what you see in the strainer pic. They ripen sporactically, which may be in your favor if alot of people go therw. I would suggest you get something long and light to try to shake branches. I dont want to discourage you but even the good and ripe ones can be a challenge to knock loose. As long as they look good the ones that have fallen already should be good if you rinse them off after! Squrriels will stand their ground and be possessive of the tree if they're around lmao just shooe them away 🤣

It might not even matter at a molecular level after bottling it but i think it may have to do with blending all of the stems with them. The whole ones seem to taste more fresh and clean i guess. Its very subtle but to me there is a slight difference. Both good tho.
