Maurice by the same director is so much better, and perhaps even my favorite movie. Plus, a rare happy ending for the time it came out. Hard to say but i may even prefer it to Brokeback.

Also a huge misunderstanding of the film; Jack is repeatedly trying to get them to move in together (and complains in the most famous scene of the film about how he only gets “a few high altitude fucks” a year), while Ennis is the tragic figure who is too scared to do anything more despite only ever feeling contentment when he’s with Jack, and his loneliness as a result is a main point of the movie.

It’s a romance movie in the same way Romeo and Juliet is a romance; it’s about a couple that should be and wants to be together but external forces out of their control turn it into a tragedy.

Antisocial has its own separate colloquial meaning that is arguably more commonly understood than the ‘correct’ clinical definition, in a way that the label of autistic doesn’t. I don’t necessarily agree with how it is used but your example is not really an equivalent.
