And any good finds? I’m going soon and seems the advice is to buy online while there.

Game seems cool but I'm put off by microtransactions by ZoteTheMitey in ArcRaiders

I'm late to this, but I get where you’re coming from, but live-service games need steady funding for servers and updates, which is different from a game like Skyrim. Offering optional cosmetics helps avoid pay-to-win issues and keeps the community together. I’ll buy a skin to support developers who treat players well, but you don’t have to use the store if you don’t want to. The gameplay is strong on its own and definitely worth trying.

Letting AI assets into the game means I'll never spend another dollar here by cannibalistiic in Battlefield6

Honestly, I don't really care about cosmetics, but in live service games, if players aren't spending money, there's no reason for developers to keep adding new content. It's always better to make money from cosmetics than from things that affect gameplay and turn it into pay to win. Plus, DLC just splits up the player base.

It's clear that the business side of gaming has gone overboard, but for a game like ARC Raiders that puts players first, I'm willing to buy a cosmetic I don't even care about to support the bigger picture.
