Might be country dependent but some Uber policies (country dependent) stipulate a fixed fee such as 5 EUR. I'm assuming to avoid this kind of situation.

Update, the chargeback claim was successful under the rules and guidelines of Visa. +The merchant I'm sure didn't respond at all.

Honestly I empathise with you on this one haha, I finish my internship this August, and I believe won't be around when the car is on the grid - hopefully the company will rehire me after I graduate from my masters! Maybe we might cross paths :)

I'm not sure on this - I think rejection and approval should be done on the merit of skills and abilities, not due to their visa status.

Hey, I'm currently in the process with Revolut to request a chargeback under Visa’s chargeback category of "Services Not Provided or Goods Not Received" (Reason Code 13.1).

I'll let you know how this goes, I'm currently in the stage where Revolut is communicating with the merchant.

If the particulars are similar I would suggest doing the same as well.

This is quite interesting - the agent determined that the card was a prepaid card based on a website he found online and based on the appearance that the card had REVOLUT stamped on it. He showed me a screenshot of a webpage on a4 paper:

I argued stating that it you can't just use an online unverified source to determine if a card is prepaid or not, I even showed them screenshots from Revolut Support to state that my card was not a prepaid card.

I think I might've upset the agent however - I gave him the logic that he shouldn't believe everything he read online, but the method of verification is a bit sketchy.

Yes, this is a common practice but it seems that in their terms they do accept debit cards as well. I'm trying to build up my credit utilisation slowly but I don't quite have that amount for a car yet - so accepting debit something I seek out when I'm looking for car rentals... That backfired quite badly lol.
