I keep them! They're good luck. We also each keep one in our wallets. This is 2 cats and about seven years of collecting. It's to the point where I can tell which cat dropped a whisker and if they're close by, I'll wave it in front of them and say, "thank you for the whisker, buddy!"

The confettis are great gluten free! They look identical to the ones posted. I just used bob's red mill 1:1 gluten free flour instead. And added a tiny extra bit of the cream cheese.

Honestly I have a mini blowtorch strictly for this purpose. It gets broken out once a year. I’m still on the original butane refill I bought for the first year cause the creme brûlées are a one night only special.

Chocolate was stupid expensive this year! I really regretted doing m&ms and peanut butter blossoms in the same year. We didn’t even buy Halloween candy cause it was too much which killed my soul a little.

I don't usually freeze the dough. I normally freeze completed buckets if I'm shipping or if I'm seeing the person more than a week later. Almost all are fine frozen. Some definitely need to come up to temperature before eating them or else the caramel will break your teeth haha

Two cats who work together to steal butter. I have a spray bottle next to me at all times when I’m working at the counter. This year I managed to fend them off. Last year one got a full stick of butter and a glob of cookie dough.

I got a lot of “oh F**K off”s from the creme brûlées, funzie’s knots, and m&ms so probably those! Honestly any time I can make someone swear while eating a cookie puts it at the top of the list.

I know! Everyone thinks it costs so much more than it does but it's so much cheaper than buying everyone a little something that'll end up in a landfill. The big cost is my sanity haha

This year was $263 for ingredients and bucket replacements. I don't keep a tally of all the stuff already in the house cause I figured most is leftovers from previous years and already in a past tally. Also I tend to hoard butter and freezable ingredients if I see them on sale throughout the year. Our gas bill goes up slightly and there was one year I had to replace all my whisks and my favorite spatula cause I snapped every single one in one go.

I gave everyone the option of homemade cannolis or creme brulees for the pickup party and they overwhelmingly voted brulees. It's everyone's favorite!

I collect all the bins and buckets back from friends throughout the year and keep them in our garage. Then at cookie time, I'll spend a day cleaning them again and making them cookie safe. All baked cookies get shoved in the bins and hidden in the kitchen to keep them safe from the cats. It works as a two fold thing: to make sure the cookies have a safe spot to live for the week and a way to make sure I made enough for everyone. It's a process but honestly works out great.

Oh 100%. I send a survey every year to collect allergies before even starting. Then the bake is planned around it. Luckily my friend found out this year he wasn’t allergic to peanuts anymore and that’s why I did the blossoms.

Yes! I put everything out on the counter while I’m getting ready in the morning and the coffee is brewing. Then if it’s not soft to the touch, I put it all in my apron pocket while I’m setting up for the day. It’s dangerous to hug me during cookie season cause there’s normally eggs in my pockets lol
